Just the whole concept of t-tops is flawed IMO.

For anyone less than 6'5" and 65 years old, the back seat of a F4 Camaro isn't a bad place for a few hours.

Seriously, I'm not joking when I say that the F4 is one of the few 2+2 that could ever seat a 6'+ individual in the back with more than adequate headroom. I'm talking more headroom than most of GM's lousy FWD sedans. Best of all, rear seat entry and exit is decent because of the HUGE door openings and easy to use front seat tilt and slide mechanisms. Even the limited legroom isn't much of source for complaints. Nobody needs very much leg room when their knee caps are at chin level.

i actually remember reading somewhere where they compared the f4 to the mustang 4th and the fbody had better back seat clearance, or ease of getting into, or something along those lines

Actually, I can't disagree more. From where I stand, the C6 Corvette typifies all of what's wrong with General Motors. Previously, I've been a big Corvette booster and I've often stated that I would have bought a Corvette instead of my Z28 if the F-bodies had died at the end of '99 instead of '02. I've also suggest that the C5 targa is a great "stand-in" for the market that was abandonned with the death of the Camaro SS and Ram Air T/A. Well....er...I hate to say this....but not any more. I'm posting a C6 thread.

The Mustangs sucked for anyone over 5'10" both front and back.

That's the thing that gets me, Camaros have more overall room, aren't tiny girly cars, are faster, handle better, brake better, have better aerodynamics, are more sporty, but yet, they are the car that needs to become more like a M*stang.
Sure they could use some improvements and need a new, more attracive and fresh design than the last Gen, but still the Camaro formula is better, it just needs to be adjusted. (and we need a more 3rd Gen and M*stang kinda setup, base V8's, multiple levels, etc.)

Who buys the Camaro you speak of? Err, who wants to buy it? 20 year old males.
Who wants Mustangs? 17 year old girls, but 45 year old Dad pays for them...(well actually a 16 y/o landed the first '05 in our area. Dealers daughter)
I remember in late '93 and early '94 when the new Mustang came out. My sister was LiKe oMg!!!!!!111oneoneoen!!!! and got one. A V6-5speed. Most all options for around 17K...... Silly heffer..... I got the Camaro (2 years old, wrecked, Z28, 6spd, power eindows-locks-mirrors... the ONLY options, 13,5000 from a salvage yard employee who fixed the car himself...)

okay, maybe the back seat for the Camaro is better than the Mustang, but its still terrible for a couple of this size. A Grand Prix coupe is about the same length, but has a great back seat that I would not mind riding in for hours on end. Look at the GTO, it also has a great back seat, and its about the same size a Camaro.
I'll tell you what did in the 4th gen Camaro, it was the over the top styling that forced many compromises on the usuability of the car. The downswept, unviewable hood, the poor visibility, the on the ground seating position, the bad back seat, the mail slot trunk, all wrapped in a car that shades as much pavement as a mid size sedan. Of course I love the over the top style and I like some of the neat aspects(seating position) while I live with others like the back seat and trunk. Nobody has mentioned this, but how did a V6 Camaro/Firebird stack up in price compared to the Mustang. I know the V8 Fbody was more expensive than a Mustang GT.
