...wait wasn't this thread about the GTO? anyways the key to these "non practical" 2 doors cars seems to be price. The next GTO is going to need a base V8 car with a sticker under $30,000. Wasn't the GTO part of the reason Pontiac got rid of the Grand Prix coupe?
The Zeta GTO/Grand Prix line up needs to got like this
- Grand Prix GT = 3.5L HV
- GP coupe GT = 3.5L HV
- GP Sedan GTP = S/C 3.5L
- GP coupe GTP = S/C 3.5L
- GP Sedan GXP = 5.3L LS4 (350HP)
- GTO = LS4 (350HP) under $30K
- GTO judge/GXP = LS2/L92 400HP+

Talk about stereotypes.
BTW...what is "anti-1984". Ya lost me on that one.

Nice ideas . It would also be quite nice if the 3.6 VVT in varing power levels was the Zeta V6 across the board . The 6 banger Zeta coupes will have some pretty established popular competition in the Solara and Accord . I know their both FWD cars , but in that particular 6 cyl segment , I really dont see RWD as main priority . Features , build quality and most important ...style , I would think drive that segment the most . Just a thought . Jason - My point wasnt that he deserved the comments posted , my point was that he is more likely than not getting off on them . Redzed never really used to be a problem around here , until people really started slingin it back . He knows how to push the buttons , and everyone is responding in exactly the manner in wish I think he wants them to . Therefore when you say he was asking for it , he sure was .....and he got it . One thing Ive learned over the years on these boards is bore the trolls to death they almost always just fade away , but let them see day to day how much they **** you off and they just do exactly that they eventually cross the line and get banned .

. Just because one agrees more with the republican ideas doesn't they do or should follow the party blindly. You got to look out for that wolf in sheeps clothing so to speak.1984 refers to a book famous book by George Orwell in which the Gov't is out of control and monitors every aspect of your life, they watch you at home and everywere you go and punish you if you say/think/talk against them. In the past few years our Gov't has been getting farther and farther away from the Washington/Jefferson/Franklin form of Gov't and closer to the 1984 style. *cough*patriotAct*cough*,*cough*FCCcensorship*coug h*..
90 Z28SS, one nice thing about a Zeta platform is that since is is going to be so spread out, many engines will be certified for it. Hopfully that will lead to a lot of nice special edition GTOs, Camaros(or chevy coupe), and Gran Prixs.

Hmmm....well I guess we'll disagree on some of our political leanings, but in deference to the Forum in which we are posting, I'll leave it at that.

The tiny wheelwells are why you can still bottom out a GTO. It's a fundimental design element, so there's no fix until Zeta.

the problem is with a fiddly detroit rule about tyres (aspect ratio or something odd? help me out, guy)
that's straight from the guys who engineered the car.
the wheel and tyre package for the whole of the US was compromised by a stupid local Michigan law.
