Pontiac renaissance! It's coming!
Not replace it totaly, but they will basicly be the same size. If this makes it to Europe, whats the point of Opel having both an EPII and this RWD chassis? And if an EPII Vectra is replaced with a RWD Vectra, then what happens to the tie with Aura here in the US? Does it just continue to go on its own way with a design "inspired" by Opel?
To say that they will be Epsilon sized is an assumption. Which Epsilon? They will be bigger than Kappa, for sure. But probably smaller than the larger Epsilons.
I'm expecting 2+2 coupes, sedans, convertibles and others.

Any idea how this is going to play out in the renaissance? Is it just a facelift for '08?

The 2008 Pontiac Vibe prototype caught in recent spy photos looks a lot like the current model, with its angular nose and sloping roof line. We expect it will stick with four-cylinder engines too, although an upgrade to something with more torque would be a welcome change. Expect to see this Vibe make its official debut in the spring of 2007, with sales beginning roughly six months later.
I'm glad to see they're keeping the Vibe, I always liked it and thought it fit Pontiac's image well. Like the blurb says, an engine upgrade would be welcome, as would the ability to go toe to toe with the likes of the Honda Fit and Mazda 3.

Who says GM wants to continue a working relationship with Toyota? This is purely me speaking aloud.
But, do you find it easy to work side by side with somebody who wants your spot in the "workforce" per say?

How many GTO's have they sold, compared to the last couple of years of Camaro's or Trans Ams??
I can't help feeling that the sluggish economy keeps many from pay over 30K for a sports coupe...in a couple of years maybe....
But something more in a Firebird's segment, even if not a Firebird, would seem to fair far better.

I think it's pretty safe to say that more Camaro/Firebirds were sold at over $30K in 2002 than GTO's sold over $30K in 2006.
And I know I'm going to regret this..... <tin foil hat ON>
Sluggish economy?
All the leading indicators say otherwise.

The GTO should have appealed to more people than it did. Afterall it has a useable backseat. The Solstice has been knocked left and right for its "lack of trunk space" as well as its "lack of power" and even it's "hard to operate top" yet it still sold more GTO's, even in the same sluggish economy.
If that's the case, why did the amount of Kappas outsell the GTO in 2006? Style.

Yeah, but keep in mind that GM already "used" the sedan design as the Cadillac Catera, and not only did it fail to set any loins on fire, they'd be ripped for bringing it back as a Pontiac.
I think the lack of styling flair really dampened the demand.. Bottom line is that it's tough to sell a $30K car that looks nearly identical to your $20K car. Most people that spend that kind of money want some psychological feedback from others for their dollars. (And a sunroof!)
