Re: Pontiac G6 Pictures

As a former '02 Grand Am GT owner, the 3 reasons I got rid of the car were...

1) An interior as sh!tty looking as the day is long
2) An exterior that was nothing more than a clean, classy looking Alero with gee gaws strewn all over it
3) Build quality second to everything...I think Yugos may have been better built than N bodies...

Needless to say, after 18 months and 23,000 miles I dumped my Grand Am. Even at a brand-new, fire-sale dealer employee price ($15,495 for a loaded GT with chrome wheels and moonroof), I felt robbed...now I own a Grand Prix I purchased used and I can honestly say, the only brand-new car I've ever owned is the only car I will NEVER miss...I think I miss my '87 Skyhawk more. At least with that car I knew what I was getting!!!!

Now that the rant is done with...

I have a very, very hard choice to make. If I can get a GTP 6 speed coupe next spring for around $26,000 MSRP (my first loaded GT is inbound, running $25,300), I may end the quest to run the GP into the ground, keep it as a winter car and wait on a 5th gen. I love this car...it answers every problem I had with the Grand Am. I imagine the build quality is better...I hope...

But, if the rotors pulsate within 2,000 miles despite **** break-in techniques, window regulators snap by 3k, again at 4k, a front end squak surfaces at 5k that takes 10k to fix, exterior trim is delaminating by 14k, steering wheel leather is delaminating by 15k, all 4 rotors are replaced by 18k due to vibration and noise, and the day I trade it in with 23k on it a section of the dash begins to delaminate?? I give up on GM and buy a Honda...

Despite great care, despite GM's huge gains in quality, my Grand Am was a class-A lemon. I hated that car, and love the GP and the Z because they do what they're told with not one hassle The Z has had a steering pump put in in my 3 years of ownership....thats it. I would love another new GM car...I'm just scared as hell to buy one...

Re: Pontiac G6 Pictures

I am not sure. It has that really long wheelbase which makes it look a bit odd....plus the rear end looks like it goes upward from the fron to back.

I'd much rather see the regular wheelbase.

dude, they're TOTALLY different. the G6 has the Pontiac badge, while the tC has the Scion badge.

besides from the similarities in dead on rear view styling, i think the G6 is a good looking clean car. the interior is superb for the likely street transaction prices these things are gonna go for. i'd buy one if i was in the market for that type of car. i mean, it definitely looks like a huge departure from the Pontiac norm. enough to even bring in new and first time buyers i'd guess. it'll be interesting to see the sales figures a year from now...

First of all, that Honda interior looks plain as a friggin wall; you guy are practically drooling over it.

Can't wait till this car get reviewed by C&D and MT

If the G6 was wearing an "H" badge (or any other import badge) I gaurantee it would recieve all sorts of praise for such a wonderful interior. Just wait till they'll **** on this car no matter good it is because it has an arrowhead for a logo.
