The new Impala. Bigger impact than Camaro.
I've yet to understand this. IF it becomes the new Impala would it be imported from Aus like th G8? or would they retool the current plant to make it? I always understood that Canada had the rights to the Impala name just as they did the Camaro.....
I went back and read the thread again you are refering to. If you can answer this one.....my only question left is can the Impala only be made in Canada? or with bankruptcy would it void contracts of such?
Found this on Wikipedia, interesting.........

Next Generation
With the decline of W-body cars (e.g. Chevrolet Monte Carlo after 2007, Pontiac Grand Prix after 2008, and Buick LaCrosse after 2009, since the LaCrosse moves to the GM Epsilon II platform), the Impala is scheduled to be redesigned for the 2010 model year, however GM had yet to decide if the new car will be rear- or front-wheel drive as of last year.[16] The Impala will most likely be redesigned on the Epsilon platform for 2011 or 2012. Otherwise the next-generation Chevrolet Impala will carry over the rear-wheel drive Zeta platform Pontiac G8 bodyshell due to GM phasing out Pontiac after the 2010 model year (and the g8's growing popularity with the automotive press)
