Difficult to Start when warm/fuel prime
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2000 Camaro. When I am on quick short trips and I run an errand and return within 5-10 minutes the car cranks and cranks. It doesn't start unless I turn the key off and turn it to the on position and wait for the fuel shot (prime) and then crank the key. Do any of you think this could be the Fuel Regulator. I don't want to get stuck one day soon. Perhaps it does not prime the fuel thoroughly when I try to start in one motion?
Thanks for listening and thank you very much,
Wendy

Best thing to do would be check the fuel pressure to see if there is a difference between hot and cold start pressure. With the regulator back at the tank, engine heat shouldn't affect it though.

How miles are on the car?I guess my question first should be is when was the fuel filter changed last?If the car has over 60,000 mi or more and has the original gas filter, then that might be the issue.(I do the cheap stuff first)Hope this helps.Back in 1970 the company I worked for(I was just a little kid then of course)bought a fleet of Chevy Impalas and Camaros and had the same problem you are describing and it turned out that it was a solenoid in the starter and GM replaced them all.Hope this helps.
