Actually, a Panorama sunroof shouldn't cost much (if any) more than the $995 T-tops that were offered on the F4. I mean, seriously, the sliding glass roof is standard on a $16,500 Scion tC. Even Mercedes doesn't charge more than $1,500 for this feature on a $60,000 E-class.

The Panoram sunroof is pimp only if you have a large roof. It would be ridiculus on a car like the 4th gen fbody.

I just looked on the Poncho site and it is a $1,500 option on the G6, too, so my $2000 was over estimating. Regardless, if GM can sell targa top vettes to guys who are 70 years old and they dont complain, I want a targa on the F5. On a daily, Id have no issues, but for nice day car, cant beat the open air.

You have precisely ZERO insight into this.

None.

T-tops must be built into the vehicle structure from the word "go" or one risks spending inordinate amounts of money to put them in. Sunroofs can be slapped into anything. The T-top option had HUGE penetration into Camaro and Firebird, out of the hardtops sold, how many of the cars had aftermarket sunroofs (which any dealer will install) put in?

Darned few.

Furthermore, T-tops carry higher value with the customer as you get much more open area out of them than you ever could from a sunroof of any type simply because of the fact that you can utilize frameless glass on a T-top car (because T-tops have to be structural members) but most cars are not constructed that way currently. Go out into a parking lot and count the number of vehicles that have frameless glass sometime compared to framed glass.

I would prefer a targa top over t-tops, any type of sun/moon roof, or even a true convertible. It is too bad that more sports cars don't offer a targa. I really like t-tops too, and have enjoyed them on many of my f-bodies.
