Re: Mitsu Lancer Evo X concept

These new pics help out quite a bit actually. I do like it a lot more than I originally did, but there are a few things I'm not too fond of.

I like it more now trhat we have "real" pics. It seems these rally cars are kinda filling in the 25-30 k performance car market. They are the same size as a mustang but have 4 doors and better everyday atributes. Im guessing we will see at least one more car go head in with Mitsu and Subie. AWD Cobalt SS-R.

I like everything on it except the way the wing looks from the back 3/4 view. From the front it's not that bad, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to sit right.

Other than that, I dig it.

Re: Mitsu Lancer Evo X concept

I still stand by my original opinion that the thing is WAY too busy.
I agree. The front end is... stupid. Looks like a half-done aftermarket ground effects kit bolt-on. Gray front bumper? Bleah. Sides are too anonymous to boot (can they BE any more devoid of character?). Spoiler - junky (although I must say it does match "the look" of the junky aftermarket front fascia); spoiler is too thin/spindly, and too tall. Taillights - too teensy tiny, alteeza-like. Rear end is too tall and vertical, looks like a Samsonite jumbo travel case for women's cosmetics

Thumbs down Re: Mitsu Lancer Evo X concept

Oh, forgot to mention my last experience with a Mitsu. I saw an offer by them for $100 cash if I test drive a new Mitsi and then go buy another make. So I went to the dealer (this was a couple years ago). Salespeople seemed terminally uninspired about their product, like they were selling dictionaries or something

Anyway I drove a new Galant GTZ/X/Whatever. I was underwhelmed by the torque (imagine that! on an import! ). I was also disappointed by the feature set for the price, and most surprising of all (due to relentless hype by the biased media) the QUALITY of the interior! Cheap materials... sun visors flimsy and felt like made of a cereal box... mold parting lines easily felt on the door pull handles. Bleah. Mistu will have to improve on that GREATLY to ever have me consider buying one.

Mitsubishi as a whole as never really impressed me. I think most of their product is garbage, so I would have to agree with you there. The Evo may be ugly, and unispiring from a visual standpoint, but it is one hell of a car to drive. I would never think of trading in an F-Body for one, but they are very entertaining vehicles.

For second car I would rather have F body if it were going to be a second car/project car. If it were a every day car I would take a evo/sti over an F body hands down.
