Meh. A knockout production would get people more excited. At this point if we are getting a new Camaro it should be well on its way to completion, so a concept plus design tweaking faze just seems... like too much.

were here at 5th gen all the time, there are a handfull of people on thisforum that know the s#!T 3-4 months before the mags do...and some even write the mags..with that said..I dont think anyone would spill it to you, if so what part of the team? where is he living??..a guy on here Red Planet..well lets just say you could not get any closer to the info than him he was the CAMARO guy..and he has not come around since...

iCE everything you said contradicts what we have learned from here, CheersnGears and tidbits throught the collective forum on other sites as well...

If your right..get this info and we can verify it..someone can..there are a few that can pass this info along...and get a nod yes or no..

one..what platform,
two..where is it going to be built..
three..the other cars its supposed to be with are not comming out till 07 08..so how wouold they jumpstart this???

Basically iCE we need proof more than you just saying what we have been wondering for so long..

when something like that is said we jump on it in seconds, disect it and look at all possibilities...and from what I see the ones in the know say your 07 Camaro is a no go...

so again all I ask for is proof..pics, drawings or something....and the above info...

and be forewarned that if you dig up pics already seen or info already posted your going to get flamed ( meaning no Chris Horton Camaro pics or CnG concepts)...


and no we are not going to wait a yr to see this happen if it is in one yr basically till it comes out you should have the info and pics now..so the shakedown of the car and plant be done..

What if we've aleady seen the concept car but it wasn't called Camaro?

What if after seeing all the hype and positive feedback of the Holden Torana concept, GM has decided to go in a new direction? Has everyone seen the blurb in Hot Rod saying that rumor has it the next Camaro would be based off the Torana concept? Wasn't that car was based off a modified version of Kappa?

Remember the press release a few weeks back on GM scaling back production vehicles based on Kappa? Remember the speculation on why the Chevy Nomad (based off Kappa) wasn't probably going into production? Maybe be it was for another reason.

Maybe the Kappa based Nomad as evolved into something else. Remember what the original Nomad concept was based on? (The one before the Chevy Blazer version.)

I'll bet a Kappa-based Chevy Coupe could arrive by late 2006 as a 2007 model.

But heck, as long as we're speculating....

 

I saw the SS concept at the show this weekend. I found myself asking why are they still showing this......

 

Actually I see more next-gen Impala in the SS than Camaro.

Wouldn't that be AMAZING? A mini-vette based Camaro? I know a Camaro isn't necessarily supposed to be a corner carver but on a Kappa based platform it sure as heck could, as well as with V8 Power... It would be possible to compete with Mustang in ETs with less horsepower... This is assuming the Torana based chassis comes in around Kappa on the scales. However, just imagine with me for a second if you will (even if you're in the know and know otherwise) imagine a 3000 to sub 3000 lb Camaro that handles like a Corvette with 400 hp LS2 under the hood. I think I just had a car-gasm.

When you post that something is official it usually means that there is official info given out by GM and that public info should be available somewhere for the general public to see (press release etc.) and examine.

What do you have? Somebody working in some project at GM saying something about some day when the possible 5th Gen is being produced.

I don't think too many people are denying that it couldn't be true (the date is highly unlikely, though, IMO...). However, you've been here since 2001, so you should know better... You need to have a bit more concrete info than what you are giving out to convince anybody. Especially when you mark it as being OFFICIAL. That's all.

But yeah, I guess I'll save this thread. Just for the hell of it.

I'm not convinced by your post that a Camaro is coming out next year that's for sure.

It was banished to a land where concept cars are eternally sent to the auto show circuit but never produced!

 

I just saw it last Friday at the Motor Trend Auto Show in Baltimore. It was nice looking... a little too big for anything I'd ever buy, but nice.
