The wait has more to do with co-ordinating than anything else. There's no need to approve something 3 years out if it only takes 18 months to get it done once approved. Until then, the more time you have to go over something, the better you make it. There's nothing else to do while cooling your heels, right?

Weren't they going to actually replace the Mustang with the Probe until people started threatening a coup?
Yep. That's why there were no changes made to the Mustang after 1987 beyond small or mandated changes. Ford was going to let it die out.

Hey, at least we knew there was going to actually be one made.
Via the rumor mill, just like you know there's going to be a new Camaro via the rumor mill.

True, but they never said that the car was on the line. It was expected that there would be a new Mustang.
Just like we can expect a new Camaro.

I'm saying that I will have received a full college education and some high school education in the same timeframe it took to develop a car.
Since it takes at least 5 years to develop a new car from the ground up, where's the problem????

Lutz's use of studying is very bad.
Cant study for a test that already happend.
GM missed the first test back in 65, and its missing the one in 05.

I dont understand the phenomenon....YOU MADE THE CAR FOR 35 F*CKING YEARS!!!! WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW? Im getting antsy, but in all reality, lease isnt up on the Maxx for another 3 years, so Ill sit tight.
Sorry about the semi-rant.

You do realize that the term "studying" in this case is just a cover-up of what is really going on?

Re: I think Bob wants to say the "C" word.....

Just a few thoughts. Why are you guys dropping subtle hints that the name won't be Camaro? Is it because union contracts disallow the use of the name, or is it that they don't want the mullet aura that surrounds the name and are going to change it to something else?

Also, I find it very interesting how much all of my Ford buddies (most of them turned to the dark side) always talk about the return of the Camaro. they even want it back. It's just that among all of GM's products besides the 'Vette, everyone talks about the Camaro's return. and I'm not talking about on this board. I'm talking about all of my acquaintences (sp?) in the performance vehicle world.

I son't see why GM even has to think about whether they should make it or not.
