Yea there has been some talk of a V8 hipo version. Im not 100% certain what the status is of that program at the moment.

Wow, shows how boring this show is that this thread has been buried for days on end as the show goes on.

Last I heard (and it's been awhile), Hummer would get the first GMT355 5.3.

Right, that was the H3 Alpha that debuted in NYC. The rumblings I've heard have some kind of Colorado Hipo variant starting in early 2008 in conjunction with a refresh.

Of the seven new vehicles, the only ones that GM rolled out at an official intro were the subcompact triplets. The Buicks and Hummers were just dropped on the show floor with no fanfare, almost as if GM wasn't excited (or perhaps not interested in drawing a lot of negative attention from the kneejerkers by dropping a bigger engine into a Hummer).

OK, I give up... besides the trio what are the other 4 cars and is there a link to see them?

H3 Alpha

Refreshed H2

The Super Buick twins

There are your seven "new" GM cars. Someone in the PR department deserves a merit badge for media spin.

So here is a question for those in the know is the refreshed H2 still on GMT800? If so then what is being made along side it on GMT800 to keep its production worthwhile? Or are GMT800/900 close enough that both can run down the same line?

Sorry about all the questions I am a bit just curious.

my guess is that the h2 is still on 800 since this was just an interior upgrade. they would have made a bigger to do about it if it was now on the 900. at least i would think so

Well it isn't just interior, the 6.2 is in there now.

Yes, it's still on GMT800. Keep in mind that it runs down its own line - AM General has a contract with GM to build the H2 at Mishawaka, and so it's not affected by the transition to GMT900.

Supposedly, it's going to migrate to the new platform. Some day. A ways in the future...

I didn't know the H2 was on its own line. I thouhgt it was like the H3 which runs on the regular GMT355 line in Louisiana.

Actually I don't know if you can verify this or not but just based on looks it appears to me that the H2 chassis and such shares more, proportions and overhangs, with the fullsize G vans than the pickups or SUVs. I don't know if anyone can substantiate this or not but that is just something that occurs to me every now and then when I see a G van or an H2.

It's a bit of an odd relationship.

Nope, there's no G-van in the H2 - it's just a mix of GMT800 "modules".
