Edmund's says Lincoln gets a RWD sedan in '08.

Lincoln’s next rear-wheel drive flagship sedan, which the company has said will be out in 2008, will borrow heavily from the MKR. The TwinForce engine and six-speed automatic transmission are sure to make production, but so will much of the MKR's silhouette and athletic proportions.

Now either Edmunds is confused, or I am.
The MKS is no linger going to be Lincoln's flagship, but the MKR is??
The MKS is coming out for 2008 model year, but so is the MKR? Or is it calendar year?
Lincoln's Flagship is going to be a Volvo FWD based AWD car? No wait! This RWD based MKR is going to be Lincoln's flagship car?
Don't get me started on the Lincoln's signature neo-deco, then early 60s inspired, then MKS-like, now this new 40s Continental inspired grille..... all within a few years.
Pick something already!
To knock on my own door with a sledge...
I HOPE these turbos are better built and last longer than the original units on the 83 GTs and even the 2005/2006 Pwerstrokes from Navistar.
I'm more of an S/C guy than a turbo guy....
reference the "long-lived" turbo mustangs from 1979-1983, the SVO's, the Turbo-coupe T-birds, Turbo-coupe Cougars, etc. NONE of them have stellar engine reputations.
Regal GNs and GNXs too.
I don't rfute their performance or capabilities at all... it's their dependability and longevity that is the issue.
Oh well. Until the warranty work begins - Vive la Turbo(s)!

The later SVT Mustangs and Turbo 'Birds have a much better reputation, and seem to hold up well for an 80s era turbo engine.
I too prefer superchargers over turbos. I've never had to rebuild any of the blowers on my T-Birds (all are original). Simply check the lube level every 60-100K, and go on about your business.
I've never heard an Eaton going out or having issues. I haven't yet heard of a Turbo that trouble free.
at this point im ecstatic Lincoln is getting new product whatever it looks like. I also said I would have no problem with the MKS if it were bookended by something more appropriate, seems now it will be.
Interesting they're using that split grill, they're were too non-ford concepts floating around with that. One of which was posted here as a camaro concept... the one with the whitewalls...
I think its a lot more distinctive then the waterfall which looks like it could be on anything from a Mercury to a Lexus...
