Drove a cts-v for a day

I agree TOTALLY with this kind of assessment! I feel the exact same way on areas like that.
Another situation where the IRS shines, IMO, is if you are at a stop sign, or red light, and where you stopped is a bunch of patched potholes in the intersection and such... My Z28's rear end would bounce all over this stuff trying to get going, even on an easy start... the GTO just glides right over it...
Re: Drove a cts-v for a day
I think the V has hop issues because caddy wanted some sort of Caddy ride and so they used softer springs , shocks, and bushings. I have been told the optional FG2 shocks help the hop, but not a cure. If the hop wasn't there, I think it would have been easier to hook the V than my 03 Vette because of the higher weight, and I though , better weight transfer. For the record I got mine to hook and the rear went boom. The replacement rear is supposed to be better.

Just taking stabs at this, since other things I have read have pretty much said the issue was corrected.

Sorry, but Ill take my IRS, world-class handling, 400+hp Z28 with 6spd in red please. For the rest of you, enjoy your Mustangs.

They worked 100%!(For those of you who never took a look at the rear suspension of the old Fox body Mustangs, from 1985 on they actually had FOUR shocks, 2 vertical 2 horizontal. I've come across plenty of people who didn't know that.

We can always go to the GTO or perhaps the next Monte Carlo.
That's a shocker. There were time I launched the begezzus out of my 5.0 (youthful enthusiasm

Most people think IRS' strong point is handling, but as you also point out, it's ride compliance. You brought out the perfect example, a less than smooth turn. The live axle Camaro Z28 can outhandle early IRS C5 Corvettes on the track. Yet on real roads, where the pavement is less than perfect, the Corvette regains it's edge.
