Here's a 110lb LIGHTER LS2 GTO running .2sec and 2 mph SLOWER than the LS6 CTS.

The LS2 CTS will be slower than the last one.
Take a look at the tires and gearing between the GTO and CTSv, advantage = CTS. Also I beleive that was the article were they tested the GTO with 900mi. on it. I'd love to see that same article with 10,000 on each car and some G-force KD's on the GTO

Programming doesnt play a big part, it plays the only part. You're looking at an engine which has more area under the curve with the same peak-power, it'd be faster if it was not restricted. Peak power by itself is good for hooray-lets feel good about ourselves.

Well, that's actually one of the harder running LS2 GTOs I've seen times on. Most '05 LS2 GTOs are running 106-107mph in the quarter with a few thousand miles on the clock. And sticky tires and gear don't do squat for mph which is the REAL story on HP.

So... your LS2 GTO with 3.73s and Nitto DRs would actually go quicker ET, probably in the 12s, but drop mph. And the LS6 CTS would still be faster car, mph/HP wise.

From my experience, and until you are talking cars that go stupid low 60 fts, MPH will actually increase with the traction provided by Drag Radials.

Restricted by what? The programming?

I'll agree with that. I'd like to see what stock C6 with nothing but tuning and decent tires(instead of run-flats) will do.

I would say tuning and tires are good for mid 12s@114-115.

Restricted by intake an exhaust plumbing to allow for a more Cadillac-acceptable volume levels.

Share that across the V range, like MB does with AMG.
Funny you should say that because there is a supercharged LS2 planned for production and I talked to one of the engineers that worked on the engine for the STS SAE 100 TIV (phew!) and he said that the specs on it were old. He said that the displacement was now 6.2 liters and the horsepower was 540. The STS blah blah blah had regular rotating assembly and internals but this other one was upgraded on the inside although he didn't say how.

They've already gone 117mph with just programming. It's unfortunate, but now the 6spd cars suffer from Torque Management.

LS6 powered cars didn't have the torque management.

Leave the tires out of it, and just reprogram any LS2 car and it'll at least match, if not slightly outrun it's LS6 powered equivalent.

And as already mentioned by B Cosby, the GTO w/ 3.73s and Nittos will run a better MPH in addition to its lower ET.

I'd like to see that. The only guy posting 1/4 mile performance results over at corvetteforums is Cartek with their H/C, tuned, geared, LT headers, etc car.

It is running fast though. 10.95@125

I'm just amazed at the LACK of C6 track times being posted.
