BTW, I'm waiting for someone to show me the CD for the 2005 Mustang. I highly doubt it is any worse than the 2002 Camaro.
90% of the performance? Less trouble? Similar Cd? Somehow I don't think so.

Nothing. If they talk about me for long enough, the pain of such a hyped vehicle falling short will go away.

Its ok guys and gals. Keep talking about, and not at the topic at hand.

As for what boards? LS1 and then LS2.com, as well as on this site and on other sites such as GMI. Promised that this car would be putting down numbers that matched LS1's. This car was gunna offer all of the performance of the last of the fbodies, but with higher quality.
I dont want to hear about the back peddling now. The Mustang is not what all the Ford fans had hyped for. Its ok...just keep rubbing your temples and repeat after me...
"GM doesnt make the Camaro. GM does not care about enthusiasts. Ford is for the enthusiast. Ford still makes the Mustang."

Or you can keep on going on with this nonsence of picking on me...whatever makes you feel better.

I could have sworn that I made a prediction a few weeks back about the 05' GT performance and all signs point to me being correct. Some laughed and said that I was underestimating the vehicle by a fair margin but the more info comes in, the more I seem to be right on this one.

The drivel to which you refer, is just as relevant - or more so (because it is accurate) - as this drivel:

I mean really. Let's cut to the chase. "Big Al" is a whiny little kid with a chip on his shoulder. If it doesn't say GM, it doesn't need to be on this planet. The 05 Mustang could run 12.2 bone stock, get 45 mpg, run on ****, cost $15k, look like your favorite super Model, and "Big Al" would still find a reason to hate it...simply because it says "Ford" and is called "Mustang.

By the same token, if there were a 2005 Camaro, it could run 16.1 sec 1/4 mile, get 10 mpg, require 104 octane, cost $55k, look like a Malibu Maxx, and "Big Al" would try to find a way to convince us that this was the best thing to come out of Detroit since.....well...it's just the best thing!

Guaranteed.

Of course, he comes here and post new stuff (plagerized from other sites) from time to time, so that makes him one of those "in the know". He's not an enthusiast in the least - rather, he is a little more than a GM apologist. A sad one at that.

There. No BS. No beating around the bush. And I apologize in advance to the folks that run this Forum.

If you have a problem with him, why don't you take it to email?

So far you're just proving his point for him...

If you have this problem with me, why didn't you do the same? Bueller?

As for talking about something other than the "subject at hand", one only has to look at his, and your posts to get an idea of why this happens. And believe me...I am not in the least worried that I might be proving Big Al's point in anything - be it in your eyes or anybody elses.

Have a great day.

The point of the post is very obvious to those who wish to see. Basically, that Al would be able to slam and bash the '05 Mustang, no matter how it performed. The three different, yet much the same, slams have all been used on this forum in one respect or another by Al.

Also, nowhere close to all "Ford fans" thought that the base $25K Ford Mustang GT was going to outrun all LS1 F-bodies. As a matter of fact, very few said anything to that effect.

Thank goodness I don't assume that Al speaks for all GM fans.

Why exactly would somone constrict themselves to just one car company? It makes no sense to me, unless you are an employee and get a major discount on all of their cars. Otherwise you should shop around and not be so simple minded.

It seems that a lot of people have a problem with anyone who doesn't like the Mustang so it is the reverse of what you are accusing Al of. He doesn't like the Mustang, so what, get over it! I don't like it either for many reasons. I am not being close minded because I don't like it, it is just not the car for me.

Also, for the people who do like the 05' Mustang, would you say that the performance of the car is what you were expecting and that you are satisfied with it?

For the base model V8? A resounding yes. Great quality, good power and great looks. It's what most people look for. While ordering my new 2005 Mercury Mariner (alas, it beat out the Colorado in the end) I watched people come into the Ford dealership and look at the 2005 Mustang GT. Men, women, boys, girls...all drooled over the car. Many couldn't keep their eyes off of it. It is truly a beautiful car and MANY people agree. Subjective as looks can be, the majority of people think this is one great car. So you can hate it, love it, bash it or whatever, it doesn't mean jack ____! It's going to sell. Camaro is gone (for now) and the ONLY affordable V8 pony car in America is the Mustang. That may change, but that's the way it is right now.

Yes it is. And I'd say 90% of the future owners feel the same way.

I think one of the most pleasent surprises though has got to be the handling. Motortrend said the 05 had a faster slalom time than any previous mustang except for the 2000 Cobra R (that's quicker than the 03/04 SVT Cobra). Not bad. I think the power increase was icing on the cake. All of the other improvements/refinements really sold the car.

We all have our opinions. There are a lot of cars from many makers that I don't like. Similarly, there are some from most makers that I do like. The difference is that I (and I can only speak for myself) do not diss or dismiss a car simply because it says "Ford" or "Mustang" or [insert brand name/model here].

I bought a 99 T/A back in Aug of 99. Kept it for about 8 months, and for a variety of reasons, decided it was just not the car for me. So I sold it. Doesn't mean it was a bad car.

To each their own.

It is what I expected, but I personally wouldn't not be satisfied with the performance, hence the reason I went out and found a left-over 2004 Cobra (almost a 2002/03 Z06 instead).
