Someone said in a camaro thread (camaro is likely on PS too) that its required in some countries that it be on the PS, so if GM is to truely make it's cars global, it's easier to put it on one side if it's required in many places, rather than have two designs for the fuel tank, fuel filler door, fuel filler neck, exhaust routing, etc... There is no side requirement in the US, so to us, it's just "different."

Now, whether that requirement is true or not...

Thats extreeme but it always felt to me like it was hasle dealing with that bulk compared to my 69 camaro or my 06 accord.
A similar thing happened to me in my 95. While I was pissed the fiberglass damaged so easily, I suppose an all-steel door would have fared worse. (A few years later the same thing happened when my wife exited our Tahoe on the passenger side. The door went past 90-degrees and has never been the same.)

Looks great! It reminds me a lot of the Cien. It looks very futuristic and sporty. I can't wait to see a CTC-V.

the circular gas cap just doesn't fit with the rest of the body lines at all.
otherwise I LOVE IT!

CTS coupe concept beginning next summer. The CTS coupe concept debuted last week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, but its production has been rumored over the past several months.

In fact, the CTS coupe program was started back in 2006 under the codename GMX226 — a fact reported this week by Edmunds and confirmed by Leftlane's supplier sources.

The CTS coupe will roll off of GM's Lansing Grand River plant in June of 2009. Production is slated to total 15,000 to 20,000 units annually. The car might be called CTC, but recent trademark filings by GM indicate it might be called CT6 instead.

The production version will look similar to the concept, with only a few changes expected. Look for the road-going version to add a rear-decklid spoiler and forgo the show car's center exhaust setup for a more conventional one.
