Have any plans of researching the 9/11 effect, and researching what Ford's percentage of value is from the same dates, like I've mentioned earlier?

I don't understand why you would want to avoid these numbers, unless they blow "The Plan" into little pieces.

 

In Aug of 01 I sent an email to Lovejoy which he distributed to all VSSM. It called for a national, simplified incentive program. As you remember, that's exactly what we did to get America rolling. So you can say what you please, The Plan works.
As to Ford, why don't you do the research? I haven't the time, but would be interested to know the info.

Didn't say that. Only said I sent email imploring simplicity. The fact that it was in Aug 01 is only coincidence.

 

Ya, I got that from that too... also interesting that it was his plan................... In AUGUST, last time I checked, Sept 11th happened AFTER August.

Also, the President Of The United States Of America called GM and personally asked GM to offer some incentives to keep the economy moving. GM's response were the incentives that worked so well at the time.

As for me looking up the Ford #'s...... I don't really know where to find them, that's why I am asking you to support you own plan.

If I find the numbers for you, are you gonna cut me in for a percentage of what you make, if anything, on your plan?

 

Anyone with significant contributions should be "cut in". However, I've learned, as have suppliers, don't expect much from GM management. Trouble is, I don't see how Ford's numbers would mean anything. Analyzing GM is enough of a task for me.

Historical GM (Symbol: GM) Pricing:

Adjusted Close 12/31/1999- $57.22
Adjusted Close 06/09/2005- $31.81

(31.81-57.22)/57.22 = -44% holding period return

Ford did worse in this period than GM did

(71.37-92.91)/92.91 = -23% holding period return



Basically since 1/1/2000, the entire auto industry has been hurting severely. GM stock in that period beat out Ford and DaimlerChrysler. Toyota was one of the only auto industry stocks that was able to beat GM.

Put in any stock symbol and click on historical prices to get prices from any day in the past. You can even download it to a spreadsheet and play with it on excel if you wish. Just bear in mind that you should use the adjusted close to account for price changes in case of dividends or stock splits.
