They gave you time, they listened. They rejected your plan.
Move on, you have lost.
(I notice you STILL won't address any legitimate counterpoint.... just sidestep after sidestep.

It's probably been a good 10, 15 pages since I posted in this thread.
Well, I also have a plan to save GM. It's only one step. Send me your email and I'll send you a copy.....just kidding.
Although I'm risking exposing the potency of this plan to GM's competitors, I'll post it anyway.
GM NEEDS to design and bring to market the absolute best cars and trucks in their respective classes. Without that, nothing else really matters. NOTHING!. No amount of marketing, cost cutting, sales gimmicks, downsizing, or anything else you can think of, can save GM without incredible product.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PRODUCT!
To Wagoner et,al,....say that 20 times every morning and repeat during the day as needed. Say it. Live it. Do it.

Hardly anyone questions the BOARD, even with over 75% of the company’s value GONE in five years. The answer is The Plan, which calls for virtually no investment, and will, in fact, serve to significantly reduce expenses. The specific steps are based upon decades of successful experience as America’s top Buick salesman (six times). Here are sample responses from dealers, Wall Street analysts, marketing research companies, GM employees and retirees, and the media:
“I can’t thank you enough for sending The Plan. It is clear and logical. Implementation would be relatively easy and I have little doubt—based on our customer surveys—that such a program would be effective.” Art Spinella, CNWMR
“Frankly, your twenty points could not have made any more sense.” Gitas Jamekis, John Crane Inc.
“Wow, Jim, this is amazing. Some of these ideas might just work, by God. And Mark LaNeve dismissed this? I have looked at the website, and there is a ton of interesting stuff in there.” Dan Neil, Los Angeles Times

“First of all, let me say that I think you’re doing everyone a great service.” Jason Stoddard, Centric
“Jim, just read your plan to return GM to Greatness. It all makes sense but how do we get the brass at GM to pay attention?” David Bruckman, Clay Matthews Auto Group

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
maybee thats what GM needs a head to head comparison with the import crowd.
I really think the big three should get together and say hey the enemy of my enemy is my friend..
and take the war to the imports not themselves..
sow the market that GM's Fords and DCX's quality is as good or better than the imports, show comaprisons on TV, not rebates..show ads..show in going to the dealer..tell them buying american keeps american money here in america..
hmm kinda like the Bud Commercials I have been seeing..is Bud the best beer in the world..not to many but it is the best in market..and they are proud to say everything thats good with the beer..GM's commercial for the best plants 1-2-3 is a start..just gotta capitolize on it..

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
I'm surprised BM could even attend the stockholders' meeting at Wilmington. How did he get his head to fit in the plant?
Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
There was once someone running GM who believed that if you market your car correctly, you can sell it. The management only thought of how to sell, not what was being sold. "Brands" were created to reflect this philosophy. Zarella proved that marketing alone will not fix GM. Zarella proved that you cannot ignore product and expect marketing to fix everything.
Buickman has stated that the product he sells is good and that GM's problems do not stem from inadequate product. He seems to want to swap one non-product related fix for another. Without competitive product, it won't work. It seems that most of GM's product portfolio relies on a substantial price advantage in order to sell when compared to Honda and Toyota.
Products developed from start to finish while Wagoner was at the helm are only now reaching the market. I believe its too early to tell whether Wagoner is a failure. It seems to me though that his emphasis on superior product is the right direction to take.

Zarrella's marketing "sucked". He is a phony and cost GM tremendously. Wagoner began running North America in 1994. Aren't 11 years enough?

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
Well I just spent the last 2 hours reading all 24 pages of this thread.
Buickman you did not address any legitimate counterpoints as Darth just pointed out.
Like any salesman you just repeated the same statement over and over that never answered anything. You even copied and pasted your prievious post.
I'm sorry but CZ28.com is too smart for your sales tactics. We dont buy into fluff around here.
If your plan is any good its still only one part of the puzzle. Thats been prven here.
Good luck with your plan but you've lost me.

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
You read the thread, but did you read the first twenty steps? Days upon days have been spent explaining and debating the points via email. Sorry if some are disappointed it's not posted here. What you don't see is the one and a half foot high stack of emails covering the issues. So quick to criticize what you haven't seen.

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
Buickman,
What is your commentary on my previous post, #323? Market capialization is merely that share price multiplied by the number of shares, which has remained constant. It's hard to argue with numbers.
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showp...&postcount=323
I have read your 20 points and I still feel as though you've skirted most of the questions raised as a result of those 20 points. You have attempted to sell your plan to the members of this foum in a manner where you have tried to raise yourself above us as a sort of deity. Most of the members see through your tactics and it is causing a long standing debate on solely based on emotion. I find it apalling and I feel that these threads are a disgrace to the integrity and professionalism of the 5th gen forum.

From $66 Billion to $15 Billion in five years. Doesn't matter what Ford or Farmer Jack did, we lost 75%. BTW there has been lots of worthwhile debate regarding the points, you just don't see it. This method may not be to your liking, and you may not care for this thread. Fine, there are lots of others for you to enjoy. Have fun. Tell Rick I said Hi!

I've got news for you..... if and when Wagoner is replaced... wether it's by his choice, or someone elses.... you still won't get anywhere.... because of the way you behave. It's like a 3rd grader in a business suit.
