I think 3 extra cams, 16 extras valves... More intake and exst. Valve area. and 1000 extra RPM should Even out that extra 1.1 L disadvantage. BWM makes a small V8 with all the extra moving parts for no reason that makes the same Hp but less Tq. Why cant Ford do it. Oh! one more thing. When Ford Wins LeMans with a Mod darivative, talkt to me. WHY CANT THE DOCH HEADS FLOW THE SAME $S AS A LS1/LS6 HEAD? I want to see 330 CFM from a ported Mod head at 500 lift????
I agree, I hear this from dudes I know with 4.6's, they'll say it themselves. Alot go and buy 80's 5.0's instead because of their potential and ease of modding. L98 vs. 5.0 was a great back and forth competition, but when the 5.0 left, the new engine left no competition for them at 1st, then LT1's, then LS1's.

LOL, I admit to being like that to an extent. But really, its our cars' history.

Calm down F5.0 you are the only 1 here going crazy. Watch who and what you call people. Have a discussion as normal people do. L98's never came with manuals as your 5.Slows did, you're misinformed. Why do all F**d guys want to compare an 03 M*****g to an 02 SS?? I just think it stinks that F**d ******* out and had to throw a charger on their car, and right after the model year the F-Body wasn't going to be produced anymore. Thats MO. A V8 musclecar shouldn't need that stock IMO. And don't talk about suppossedly great engines F**d has compared to what GM has. Are they in M*****gs?!?! Thought not. And u know if this hiatus wasn't going on GM would've answered back yet again with something better. And if you want to say that a M*****g has outbraked or outhandled a Camaro year for year, stock for stock, since 82 or even before, then I'd say that you just don't wanna hear fact.
ok first off i apologize for flip mode and generalizations with that said id like to add a couple things... i was comparing any 99,01, and 02 cobra in that comparison NOT THE 03..... and id love to hear son road tests of a fbody ss of any year vs. the cobra of the same year.... LEAVING THE 03 OUTTA THIS...

about the l98's its damn near impossible (at least around connecticut) to find a 5spd version (stock anyway) as i was looking for one before i bought my slowstang..... production rate to production rate they didnt make as many 5spds as they did autos, and autos are the more dominant, and its hella hard to find a 5spd 350 maro third gen anywhere, (AROUND THESE PARTS)

N/p F5.0.

You can't find 1 because they wouldn't make an L98 with a manual due to the TPI's 345 ft. lbs. of TQ they said, but we know it was because the Camaro would be too close to the Corvette for alot less money. A little stupid, but whatever. The Camaro was already close in handling too pulling .9-.92G's. Both companies do things that **** us off sometimes I guess. Personally I like the Auto and they did great with them. I would've liked to see a new L98 5-Speed vs. a new 5.0 5-Speed though, it would've made sence and made things even more competitive. You'd have to do a swap if you wanted 1. BTW, were u looking for a Third Gen 350 IROC-Z or 350 91-92 Z28, just out of curiosity??

What you mean is absolutely, positively, no doubt about it impossible. 3rd gens with B2L's (L98)..... were NEVER offered with 5-speeds.

Agreed. This sort of garbage belongs elsewhere. Besides, I badly over-estimated the person I was argueing with (along with a couple of his little buddies). Hardly worth the effort.

One last thing...anytime any of you internet-racing magazine-jockeys want to get out from behind your keyboard and take it to the track, let me know.

I don't mind waiting till school's out. I have kids, so I understand.

LOL. I need to take my time and read through posts more sometimes before I post I admit, like I did with you that time and posted like the same thing a bunch of times before going back and realizing afterwards. But not here. I don't think anything I said was far off. Most 4.6's (not all) are slower than 5.0's, and aren't as easy to mod and get good results with for little work. And F-Bodies do handle better. But then again, some things will be my opinion and not the same as others. (like S/C's) I do have that way back kind of thinking at times with cars, which makes me against power adders and an N/A person instead. Sometimes you just gotta go crazy on a F**d guy or 2. Its a Chevy thing.

not to say when i looked for them i said (STOCK ANYWAY) some people have converted it. when i was at tech school i saw one with a 5spd which is why i assummed it was production, i also saw one with a 4spd from a late 70'svette... (albeit the motor was from that year too )

i confused the 5spd version with the 305 H.O. motor instead of the 350 iroc thats why

i was much more concerned with the hp numbers and thats why i assumed teh 230hp was a 5.7 instead of the H.O. 5.0 that came of late... i always pictured the 305's as 170hp slugs.... my fault no harm intended, thats why i am corrected, thanks for the info
