I wouldn't count on 400 HP in the GT for the production version.

Ya if all you ever want is 400 hp unless you wanna blow the warranty on a lighting pully. Thats a 10000 motor that is non machinable or workable. What a pile. Sorry i think 400 hp from a SCed v8 is pathetic. The mod motors are worthless throw away motors. It nice if you want turn key performance.

Actually the GT will be na and it will be very close to 400. The cobra will be the SC motor.

Not a chance in hell the GT will have close to 400 HP. It would come in at 30 grand or more. The gt will be low 300s, special editions will have mid to upper 300s and the Cobra will have low 400s. Thats my guess

I don't know much about this particular motor, but this is what I always say to my Ford friends about the Lightnings and 03 Cobras. That is, that the numbers they are putting up are low for a supercharged motor, letting you know that without them they could never achieve such numbers. Hence their studying the V10.

actually according to www.stangnet.com the stats are SUPERCHARGED 4.6L v-8 400hp 390tq

if that isnt enough then my new road and track has got an article with the same stat numbers

as does the new motor trend....

couple other online sites too

OH AND WHO THE **** IS STUPID AND IGNORANT ENOUGH TO SAME SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF " THATS A TERRIBLE FIGURE FROM A SUPERCHARGED V-8" ARE YOU DRUNK?? honestly TO UP THE HP FIGURE ON A 4.6 ANY FURTHER REQUIRED SUPERCHARGING BECAUSE OF THE 1.1 LESS LITERS (YES I AM COMPARING TO LS1's) AND THAT WITH LOW BOOST WAS A RELIABLE AND STRONG VEHICLE to up it any further to along the lines of 500hp would seriously be pushing the limit as far as factory reliability goes ITS NOT FEASIBLE TO MAKE A RELIABLE SMALL *** MODULAR v-8 any stronger before running into problems... HAVE YOU HEARD OF SHAWN HILAND? (i think thats how you spell it) how does a 5.0 stroker N/A with 350rwhp sound? still .7 less albeit a whole different valvetrain and design, and yet i could care less cause 1500 dollars in bolton parts done by someone with 60+ iq shows net gains of 500rwhp and when you get into motor work (god only knows the gains to be found in head porting and cams)... ITS all about where the money takes you and ford is CATCHING UP, hell THE NEW GT WILL OWN THE C5!! it will be owned by the z06 but thats what the cobra is for...

btw ford 427 roadster.. look that one up to see some sick performance figures... 590hp from the factory.. 4 doors + domination

IF IGNORANCE IS BLISS YOU ALL MUST BE SOME F*CKING HAPPY PEOPLE! to say statements like ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN or NOPE TRY AGAIN.

C'mon, do you really think a GT will own a C5? Don't assume that the motor in the Concept will be production for the GT..........sorry, try again.

you have the comprehension skills to pick out the anti chevy theme, but do you have the iq to find the 3 backing pieces of evidence...

so i guess if motor trend is wrong, and stangnet is wrong, and road and track is wrong then i retract the statement, but looks to me like they all didnt ALL waste there time putting 4-5page articles on BULLSH*T now did they??

honestly dont be ignorant...

QUOTE" TRY AGAIN" LOFL did you put that there on purpose or to poke fun at my last sentence in my previous post?? cause you look pretty stupid

F**d makes slow cars so they need to S/C their cars. Sounds just like imports. 1st musclecar to have to S/C their V8 to "keep up." Come on F**d people, since the 5.0 was taken away you have had nothing really good enginewise and you know it.

Yes, magazines quote a lot of bull on vehicles that haven't come out yet. They print "2005 Mustang exclusive" and people buy their magazines. Sad but true. No, I don't think the GT will be supercharged and have that much HP in the stock version. Too expensive. Chill out Mr. Ford **** and just wait for the production version comes out before you stick your foot in your mouth.

The car in those magazines is the "CONCEPT", not the production car. Ford has not announced production horsepower yet, but the GT will not be supercharged ($$$) and will not make 400hp. You can get angry at as many people as you want, but it's true.

I love my car, but the 4.6L mod motor is a boat anchor that in SOHC form makes only a few more HP (and often less) than a HiPo DOHC V6 of less than 4 liters.

4.6L Dohc junk? Is that why the fastest 4.6L Dohc is faster then the fastest Ls-1 from what i've heard? Granted both are highly modified. The 4.6L does have potential.

You guys's argument about the 4.6's needing a S/c is along the same lines as the Ls-1's needing an extra 1.1L in displacement. Bohoo things weren't exactly equal then nor are they now. In the end both are stock, the S/c 4.6L faster, and that's hard for some of you to swallow . Give this argument a rest. It's been beaten to death and back a billion times.

I doubt the GT will have anything close to 400hp. 300-320hp might be more accurate.
