Exclamation $1MM of Mustangs Burned in Railcar Accident

Can somebody with good local eyes and ears help bring facts to bear? PLEASE!

Suspicious Railroad Boxcar Fire

I have heard there were some "specialized" Mustangs on this train...
Are they new '05 units? PPAP units? SEMA units? Saleen developments? WHAT WERE THEY?!?!?

GuionM... you got anything on it?

Ya, that is very odd... especially if it was "suspicious", and they think someone set it on purpose.

Hopefully no one was hurt.

They mentioned classic cars. I don't think the 05 Mustang can be classified as a classic.

Pretty much every automotive company has something in the area, including Ford design & their PAG headquarters, Mazda USA, and Chrysler design studios.

Also in the area is Saleen (located in Irvine), and a company that builds concept cars for just about all the automakers.

Realistically, since the boxcar was parked for about a week, I suspect the fire destroyed some Saleens waiting to be shipped as well as perhaps a few classic and/or expensive cars.

I don't believe there were any SEMA, concept, or "pre-production" cars involved since car companies keep a tight leash on cars like that, and ship them themselves, usually by truck.

You guys gotta read the article. They were classic cars. Some of the classic cars were rare mustangs.

Hrumph...

I'd call burning a boxcar full of Mustangs a mercy killing.

It would be sad if there were classics on that trailer. I would hope that if there were mustangs on the trailer then they were newer cars. A new car can be remade if it is lost but a classic is gone forever.

Oh brother...

Lighten up, it was a joke. Since when does political correctness apply to Fords?

And in recent news... One individual was seen running away from the fire with two molotov cocktails in his hands, nervously giggling and looking over his shoulder. He wished to be known as Big Als Z, but declined to comment further.
