I also thought about cutting out the ceneter section of my third brake light and making that the reverse lights. if you dont like this idea, they could be covered with blackouts.

I have the rear taillight section just about done, it looks great. I have to finish sand a few spots and shoot it all in black primer, then I'll post pics. I havent touched it in about a month since I broke my engine, I'm getting my car ready for SLP day here in Orlando in 3 weeks. A quick note... installing the C5 lights requires banging on the area behind the leftmost taillight with a small tapping device. The C5 lighs themselves are about 4" deep, and there's about 3.75 inches of room on that side. It's no big deal and is not visible when the car is assembled.

I will show off the first of the C5 rear panels at SLP day, it will be on my car and I'll take the pics there.

I cracked my #7 piston, broke the ringlands off it. The booster fuel pump I installed the week before failed and my engine was running off the factory fuel pump blowing through a dead inline pump. I sprayed the engine with NOS and I could feel it laying down... like the juice was empty, but it wasn't. It didn't break right away.../ a few days later it started tapping and rattling and finally lost a cylinder.

So this is the new combo:
Forged 347 LS1, 11:1, Stage 2 heads, Comp XER 332/228 .598/.588 112 ,chrome LS6 intake, LS1 edit, and I'm making my duals go over the axle with the whole tailpipe and tips from carbon fiber.

Whistler,

Are you going to duplicate these from a mold ? If so, what will they be made out of and how long did they estimate from the time you give them the original until you will have duplicates to sell ?

As you know I have some bodywork and custom molding experience, so on the one hand I have my $150 + shipping ready for ya... and in the other, I am anxious to almost start doing this mod myself since I will have the C5 lights in a couple weeks.

(Show season is coming for all of us.. hee hee)

Well, I wasn't gonna go, but I gotta see your car. It's freaking awesome. And hey, it's only four hours, right!

Four hours is well worth it to see his car in person. It'll probably take you longer than 4 hours to find everything he's done to his car. That is, if he doesn't point them out to you.

Paul-
I'll cast the mold and make you one right after the show. It'll be fiberglass. It's not a big deal, really. The part is small compared to a hood or racecar front clip, and I've made both those.

If you feel like making your own, email me and I'll give you some pointers.

This really looks interesting... I'm sure it'll look much better in person compared to any photoshopped version. 150 bucks + the price of the taillights doesn't sound like a bad price at all! I'll keep an eye on this post and see how well it all works out.

I have to put my car back in the shop in the spring for another round of paint on the front clip thanks to a stupid deer Christmas eve. That would be a good time to go ahead and get something like this installed. Good luck!
