The panel has been done, I just don't have a digital camera and have been unable to coordinate time to get the panel on my car and get some pics taken of it.

Whistler,
Any chance of getting some more pics of the Targa conversion also, while you have a camera? Thanks,

Question

Correct me if I'm wrong...but this thread isn't really about the rear bumper as much as it's about the rear valence, right? Maybe Whistler can chime in here...from what I could see, I thought he was fitting C5 lights in the rear valence. Now...if it IS about fabricating a flatter C5 style rear bumper section as well...then Jigga Damn...count me IN! By the way...for anyone following my gill cutting, I'm about to leave the house to pick up the car from the paint shop, so I should have pics available in just a couple hours. I'll update THAT thread though when I get them.

Finally!!cant wait for the pics to come. And has anybody thought about the "whole" picture here. Whistler I gotta give you full credit, not only are you going to clean up around here (camaroz28.com) but think about it.... If you market this on a national scale you could be buying C5 vettes by next year (5 of em lol). First thing I'd do is start selling them on Ebay, then hit all the other stores up (Nopi, thunder racing, Rksport, etc). I'll guarantee that they'll sell them for you just because it's a new mod that has'nt been thought of until now. Plus if "we" want it soooo bad then the rest of the US is going to go crazy for em. remember that old saying "they'll beat a path to your door".

Koby- Thanks alot for that link, I finally see how they are run. I might have to buy the tips that come with that muffler but if not I can work around it. Odd thing is the left side... it looks like both pipes are runnin from the outlet instead of a collector type thing, but anywayz thanks again. And that price!!!! I'm glad I bought mine from Ebay, I saved over $500

silver97Z- I went to the site but could'nt figure out how to get in touch with them (might not have been lookin hard enough, too many cervesa's lol)

pu12en- Yea, the electron blue will be very nice, I think that color came on Avalanches and new cavaliers, but check into the new 2003 Nissan Altima paints. there's a kinda of electric/ocean blue that is off the hook, I've only seen one. I'm still getting ready for Nopi ( I wanted to shock the import world and enter both camaros in "HIN" in August) but they're not nearly ready. I just went and bought a "Lexan (bulletproof glass)" sheet to hold my two 10's but am having hell tryin to cut the 10 holes out. NOS for the Z is next!!!! Damn, showtime is coming up too fast lol

just thought of this...how come Chevy wouldn't sue Whistler for this mod? Its taking a C5 rear and putting it on the Camaro. And before you reply, think of the Z06/Z28 emblem thread that was started awhile back where EVERYONE said Chevy had the right to sue.

Anyway just thought I'd ask.

Maybe this is just common sense talking , but wouldn't it take a bit more than some guy working out of his garage to supply a 'national' demand for these?! Call me crazy, but I don't think ONE guy with some skills for this stuff can really do what you are saying there. What you are talking about would be on more of a full production scale. Now, maybe Whistler could sell the rights to someone, and make a large sum of money that way. But I think what you are saying is just a bit much, that's all.

I don't think that he would have a problem with GM. I think, they could really only sue if he was infringing in a paten. And since Gm doesn't offer anything near this or he isn't making copies of the actually c5 light housings, he shouldn't have much to worry about. If that were to hold true, then I don't think we wouldn't see roll-pan kits offered everyday for s-10 and fullsize trucks, they even sell one for the pt crusier..dont ask how I know that one..

IMO of course I really don't know just offering some observations.

And of course he probally wouldn't be able to supply for the demand of a whole nation. He would just have to make sure he gets a copyright for it after its done and then sell a bigger company the rights to produce it. After the product is done he could make as many molds as he wanted and sell to a lot of different companies.

But I hope that doesn't happen, not that I don't want Whistler to profit as much as possible from his own work, just that I don't want to pick one up now and then a month later have them be $9.99 at any local rice shop and see them on every other camaro.

He said that he has the hookup with a shop that can reproduce the molds of his custom work.
