are you talking about the jounce bumper?
where your axle might bump the body?
if it is, is the suspension compressed or hanging now?
if the suspension is just hanging when it hits it, it shouldn't when you put the car back on the ground.

What year C5 rims? What width? The only ones that should present a major problem in the back are the Z06 (OEM and repro) 18x10.5's and the 2000 (repro) 18x10.5 with 58mm offset. That produces an 8" backspace and that puts them into the inner fender liners.
Some hammering and cutting the corner off the jounce bumper brackets requried. The jounce bumper may only hit the wheels at full drop, when the car is jacked up, but why take a chance that someone is going to forget and jack it incorrectly and put the bracket into the rims.
A couple of other C5 wheels are "tight" but shouldn't rub too badly, including the 2000-2002 18x9.5's with 7.76" backspace.
