Not trying to add fuel to the cost fire, but can there be that many people rolling around with those gaudy altezza style craps? To my knowledge, there wasn't 500,000+ Camaros made, and those jelly bean lights are only about $200, plus there are about 10 billion different styles. I'd be in at $200, $250 is getting a $50 premium cause they are "export".

you know what exports look like right?? they are not altezzas at all..they were for exports to Japan and Europe..
they look almost stock, but not..and set my cars rear off and makes it stick out to something diffrent if 3 cars were lined up..93-96 and 97-02..mine are diffrent..and I paid $300 for originals..and these are aftermarket, also if you get these tail lights for your car and its a 93-96..you need the 97+ tail light harness...just an FYI

Yeah, I know what they look like. I miss the point of your entire post though. Also, if you pay $250 for them and THEN have to get the 97 harness, that makes it at LEAST $280, cause the harness is about $20 plus shipping. I don't care how much originals cost, heck, I've seen people pay over $100 for 97 style lights, but those are maroons.

My point is this: With roughly 80K cars made a year, (thats both f-bodys isn't it?), there is no way that APC and companys like that have to make 500,000 units to get a deal on the molds. These would sell much better at less than $200, and even at $200, there should be some good margin, unless APC decided to loose money on every set of altezza style, or carbon fiber look lights. $250 has got to have a TON of margin.

Last - what makes the export lights unique and cool? The RARITY. So, when they are a dime a dozen, they will no longer make your car look different, since EVERYBODY got them to be different. I like the style of them, most of my friends don't, but if I buy them, its for me, not them.

ummm question before you do this, have you asked GM about reproducing these?? They might slap you with a cesase and desist order before one is even made and all the $$$ in R+D into making these will be down the drain. I remeber one of the vendors/stores on here that made emblems and stuff for our cars I think its MBA the Billet Aluminium company said they got to go through GM before they do anything with a part of a car the GM or any car co. for that fact made. He said it like jumping through hoops with their lawyers because of the TM, copywrites, designs and blahh blahh blahh and he had to explain why his product would support GM and all that crap...

just wanted to let you know before you did something that I can see alot of people have interest and have it come to a halt! even though they dont makethem anymore its still a GM style design.
