Interestingly earlier today, I got the chance to hear up close a 4.6 GT stang (99+ model year) and it had a noticeably raspy/unrefined sound to it...Honestly, I would have thought I was hearing just another typical LS1 had I not actually seen the car first...

I've NEVER thought the 4.6's sounded like anything special...Some sound pretty good, while others sound like crap (like the one I just heard did). Like LS1's, it's all in how you set up the exhaust systems from the motor back...

Now 5.0's on the other hand, damn... Most LT1's aren't too far behind either...

I am very interested in the sound of the 1954 BRM v-16. It is very distinct and there isn't that much info on the engine (besides the basics).
