Update: The motor is sitting in the car right now. Not yet welded but it's sitting there. As people have said some serious trimming is in order when you do this transplant. We cut the cowl back but the carb is still touching a bit in the back so a slight bit more trimming is necessary. I am running a Holley Dominator intake so if you run a lower rise intake you'll have better clearance.
Also, contrary to other peoples experience, we have been able to retain the windshield wipers. I'm going to need a cowl hood for clearance with the carb. Also we ended up using the madman motor plates from Thunder Racing which we trimmed another half inch off for our own application. The BMR tranny crossmember worked great for the powerglide we just had to elongate one of the holes to fit it. Uses the same trans mount.
I've got some pictures I can post, but I usually do that on cardomain because I don't know how to post here. If anyone wants to post them I can e-mail them to you no problem. Just shoot me an email to pontiac510@gmail.com
I'd like for the other members to see them actually. So, can someone help me?

just saw a Z today at a swap meet here in MN of all places. 93-97 style with a built 454 in it... all i can say is wow talk about no room. the engine compartment is completely filled. it was definately a trailer queen though. had a roll bar and the rear of the car was redone to fit in the monsterous slicks on the back....each about as big as my arm. but from a distance all it looked like was a 93-97 camaro with a cowl hood

Sent the pics to Brady so they will be up when he gets a chance.
As far as the Corvette, go to boxperformance.com if you click on the link that says my car, you'll see it.

It's the stock k-member. We moved the steering shaft about an inch to the drivers side to clear the headers and we cut off the old mounts where the rack used to sit. Well also have to notch the k-member in the back for the header to clear as well. It works but it might have been much simpler with a tubular k-frame.
Brady, thanks for hosting the pics for me.

Thanks for the info. I'm using a BMR K-Member so hopefully the problems I'll have to deal with will be with the EFI and also the transmission. I'm going to try to put a T56 behind it
Re: My Big Block into a 4th Gen install journal...
Bmr makes a great tranny crossmember that works for th350 and 400 trans. I think there are others it fits as well. Check out their site. I was very worried about the trans too. Turned out to be one of the easiest things about the swap.
I am still working on the EFI though.
