Lt1 block difference ??

I sold a 96 Impala motor to a guy with a 94 z28 and he called and said the block is different and the motor mounts don't work......
Either he don't have a Lt1 or i sold him a L99 motor.....maybe ??? I took the motor out of a 96 impala but maybe someone switch it ???............Is that even possible ??.Naaa.....no one would put a L99 motor in a impala.........He said the bolt holes are different on the block....Maybe he don't have a true z28 ???.......Heres the vin just incase some one can tell me if its a true 94 z28.???............... 2g1Fp22p1r2201938

Re: Lt1 block difference ??

The 350ci LT1 block has “327” (last 3 digits of the GM casting # 10125327) in several locations, including front, under the driver side head, near the bottom of the block..

The 265ci L99 block has “4.3” cast on the side of the block. Casting # is 10168588.

Re: Lt1 block difference ??

On the Camaro, the 8th digit of the VIN is the engine code. V8/LT1 is “P”, so that checks out.

Re: Lt1 block difference ??

I went to the guys house and he lied to me........said he tried the f-body motor mounts on the other block but would not fit...That was a lie.........when i got there i seen what was going on so i took his f-body motor mounts and bolted them on the block i sold him and everything worked...........he never took them off his block and tried them on the other block...

Re: Lt1 block difference ??

Good. There's no diff on the mount provisions on LT1 blocks. When we built the stroker, I bought a used block from a yard in Tennessee. My shop said they were pretty sure it came out of a B-Body. Bolted right up.
