WE? I guess you engineered and built that one to huh? That car SOLELY belonged to John Mihovetz, he engineered, built and drove the car.

ANd if you think an LS "1" will make 1000 hp normally aspirated with "ram tubes" you need to lay off the Lortab

Any thoughts?

Rich,
The less expensive route would likely be the blown BBC, they dominate the
local Q16 field with the bump normally around 7.50. Believe it or not the local
N.O.P.E. racers do it on a budget.

Dare to be different, I like the 6.0 truck motor with individual throttle body
EFI

I would really try to narrow down what kind of motor you want to start with, the options are really endless. For solid reliability the BBC cannot be beat, and 1000hp is very easy to make. Our jet boat big blocks on the cheaper side of the spectrum make 990hp at the crank and use iron heads with an inefficient roots blower...so you just need to set a budget and pick an engine. You can run EFI with the above motor if you want to, we have a fresh design lower intercooler manifold with the injectors built into that part so that the fuel doesn't run through the compressor and CAC.

A 468 with decent heads, a F3 and EFI would be kinda NASTY. Even MORE nasty with alcohol. No intercooler needed with alky.

Buddy of mine, Brady(yall know him...he is on this board) Has an EZ street 4th gen Firebird with a 555, F3R, BS3 and a glide...makes 1620 to the WHEEL! With alkeehol and EFI. His car has been a best(so far) of 5.0@150 in the 1/8 at 3300 lbs. But that is very de-tuned from his 1620 dyno pull.

Yeah, I am strongly considering the centrifugal BBC route with EFI running on methanol.

I enjoy watching a small block car running compression and cam qualify number
one against the blown big blocks. A N/A LS engine running one of these would
be awesome!

My personal favorite is a turbo LS1.

With your knowledge of turbos and tuning why wouldn't it be?

I've got the engineering specs for that Harrop since I had to do a 402 cam for one. It's a pretty piece but the runner dimensions are really only setup for a street motor.

FWIW Rich you could have a NA LS1 to do the job as well, 950+hp but it's not cheap! Gotta be a $20+K motor but who keeps track when it's around there!

I'm still hoping for the Blown LT1, it's cheap ;-) and it would make you the fastest LT1 car on the planet!

I think just about anything with a turbo would be cool, I was at a car show yesterday and saw a couple centrifugally charged cars but no turbo cars.

I was afraid the Harrop would not support your desired power levels. Here are
some other options from Kinsler:

You tell me how many 1000+HP cars you have wrenched on.
I went racing with that car for 3years. You can put up your resume any time.

I wouldn't waste money on a LT1...unless you like getting put on the trailer first round

Seriously..it wouldn't hang......I would go with the BBC, the LS stuff cost too much at that level.
