A/C delete questions (obd2 need tune?, etc)

I have a 97 z28 with obd2. I was wondering whether or not it will need to get a tune if i get rid of the a/c system. I dont want it to throw codes.

Also, i think i know what im doing but does anyone have a link to an a/c delete guide?

Btw, does anyone know the cheapest way to bypass the system belt wise? I see the pulley goin for 50+$ and it just doesnt seem worth it. Is there any cheaper way?

so does removing the belt from the ac free up horsepower...or is it the same as just cutting the ac off?

I think its more of a weight reduction. The a/c is heavy and mine is broken. It will cost more than it's worth to fix.

There are a number of diagnostics for the A/C that will set the SES light.... system pressure sensor, temperature sensor, clutch circuit, etc. All of those need to be "programmed" out or you will get the SES light and/or stored codes.

Thanks guys. BTW, my a/c clutch seized up and the a/c doesnt work. I was wondering if i could just have the system drained and replace the compressor and be done with it after a fill or is there a lot more work to it?
