Check out this link.
It can realy mess up your fuel system. I have seen it before but didn't know what it was. This is just a lab test. The stuff that can grow in your gas tank looks like moss or mold.
More or less the bottom of the page says that the fresher less contaminated the fuel the harder it is for it to grow and live.

Seriously...

Is this even really an issue for people who don't let their cars sit for extended periods?

Wait... rephrase...

If you buy your gasoline from a station that does a brisk business so they generally have fresh fuel, plus you burn through a tank in less than a month, is this even an issue?

Seriously...

Well no, not really.

Those guys with the study are the same ones that market the pet rock like, cosmic chi magnetic device that clamps around your fuel line and gives you better mileage and no emmisions for the life of your vehicle. Take that for what its worth.

If you are not familiar with this amazing device, ask around or do a search on light wallet mod.

I wear a special unobtanium wrist band which was guaranteed to keep me from being charged by a mad African bull elephant here in upstate NY. It has worked perfectly for over 25 years! I think the company that marketed it was bought out by the Fitch guys.

They are saying the bacteria is grown in solutions with 2% gasoline... my guess is they don't do too well in the 100% gasoline solution found in our tanks

This just in... excess money can lead to depression or worse. Yes that $1000, $100, or even $20 sitting in you bank account or wallet has been demonstrated "under strict laboratory conditions(TM)" to lead to suicide!!! Potentially save your life now by sending all excess cash to... me
