who's running flowmasters with what tips
i got a question i had a 88 gta with the l98 and 3inch flows with 3.5 inch tips that were 21 inches long as you can imagine i had no torque so i'm trying to figure out a better combination with the 80 series flowmaster. anybody with flowmasters can you let me know what tips and flowmaster you went with my car now is 89 gta 5.7 auto with g92 option. i won't it loud and i won't to keep my torque. thanks in advance.

A single 3", 3.5" or 4" 40 series(2 chamber) makes enough noise to make passengers question your car's integrity. Having "too much" exhaust flow should not affect torque production as much as you might think.
Running a single 3 or 4" system would also save weight also eliminating tips by ending the exhaust before the car's rear axle. That will also provide an annoying resonance inside the cabin that I feel you're after. Goodluck

And I won't you to realize that "won't" and "want" are two completely different words. Hell one is really a contraction!
But dude, I hate my flowmaster 80 series. I've got enough resonance to question the integrity if MY car as it is. Why the hell would I want to annoy anyone who rides in my car.
Quieter = better for me. I want flow, but not at the expensive of interior comfort. I don't drive a GTA for nothing!

the guy at the muffler shop made me a 2 chamber muffler out of 2 mufflers with 2 3/4 inch Piping. 3.50 inch tips that are 18 inches long. it's ok he said it would be loud, i don't think it's loud enough. But when i had just open headers it was not loud enough

Torque production is not affected by exhaust tips that are too big, especially when on a single pipe/muffler 3" system.
I've got a single 4" Flowmaster system with a "hideaway" single turndown tip. I say "hideaway" because it's a little hard to hide a 4" turndown
