Post NEED HELP FAST!!! Replacing stock head unit

Ok...I picked out a new head unit today, and I was told that they're going to have to rewire my car for an additional $50 because I have a factory amp.

I have the stock Delco tape deck (NON Monsoon), but the car has a factory 6-speaker system. They've said they've never seen any other Camaro like it before--usually they have the Bose with the factory sub, or it's a Monsoon.

I'd rather they not **** up my factory wiring harness or anything else for that matter. What else can I do? All I wanted was a CD player in my car. ADVICE PLEASE!!!

I think they are screwing with you. So your thing is stock? Honestly, do it yourself, free install and you ge to learn.

You need a wire harness, and an install kit.

Purchase the wiring harness, ant. adaptor and the dash kit from them. Wal-Mart here sells the adaptor and the harness for $7.00. Most car stereo places sell them for $12.99 each. Radio Shack sells the ant. adaptor for $2.00 (save $10.00). Dont get any other parts from Radio Shack thier dash kits suck. The harness from most radios for that car match wires color for color. You can wire the harness at the kitchen table. The dash kit installs in about 30 seconds. You will see how everything goes into play as soon as you start. Save the money and feel the pride of self-install.
