I am buying an lt1 cam from ebay. What additional parts do I need to buy to install this cam. What kind of gains in et, hp, and tq can I expect with my current mods? I also plan on putting in 1.6 rr and new springs.

 

Gains- Not much, nothing to go with the cam.

 

It won't be worth the time of making the LT1 cam work in a LB9, you would be better off just using 1.6 RR.

 

To be honest I think that would be a great a cam for your car. It has the worst cam you can get right now in it a peanut cam. With the exhaust upgrades you have done I think it will work extremely well. If I had a roller block that is the cam I would want to put in my car aswell. As for the rockers I really wouldnt bother to do it. The reason is I think you might run into some clearance problems with that cam and the 305 heads with the rockers. It is a better cam then what you have but isnt as good as an LT4 which would have been better.

i put an lt1 cam in my 305, went from 15.5 to 15.3....the cam was free...thought i question if 25 hours of my life was worth .2 of a second when the 305 is coming out in the summer

What computer chip mods did you have to do to get the LT1 cam to run properly?

 

TPI 305's don't have the peanut camTBI's do.
