the first one should do the trick, it requires very minimal modification to fit in a third gen, it can reuse the top plastic with minor trimming

the second is even better, but requires more work to fit, the top plastic will NOT work , it is 1 inch too short

I used a factory 19x31 GM 3 core for a while with no problems. I converted to a Griffen for about a year just to try and reduce weight. When I converted to alcohol I took out the griffen and installed a rad from a Turbo Firefly.

The Griffen is nice but there's no drain on the rad. The only way to drain it is to pull the lower rad hose off.

Before you start changing the rad start checking other stuff.

Make sure the thermostat is opening all the way.
Make sure the antifreeze strength isn't too high.
Make sure the rad cap holds 15 psi.
Make sure the water pump is moving the coolent at the proper speed. Too fast and the coolent can't collect enough heat. Too slow and it can't pull the heat out fast enough.
Make sure there's enough air flow moving across the rad to pull the heat out of the coolent.
Have your rad checked to see if the core is plugged.

The GM 19x31 rads are plentyfull. They're a lot cheaper than having to buy an aluminum rad.
