finally got my first 3rd gen

after about 2 years of wanting an f-body, i finally got one.

its a 92 ws6 ta, t-56, 4th gen int.

only downfall is its got 167k miles...but it seems to run pretty good. hopefully it will last me the summer, and i can do a rebuild in the winter.

heres the cardomain i made:

Congrats. I think someone on here posted that for sale a while ago. I had the page open for 3 weeks thinking of buying it (if it's the same car, but the 4th gen console makes me think it is). I really liked that car. It looks like a nice car and the T56 is a nice "option" to have already.

Absolutely gorgeous car. I want your taillights and your interior.

What gauges do you have on your a-pillar?

i'm gonna polish like a **** for the next few weeks before it gets on the road.

If that engine had it's oil changed when it should all its life, then 167k aint nothing. If you are worried about the engine's condition, do a simple compression test on all the cylinders. See if they are in spec with what they should be. A compression test is an excellent, and easy means of determining overall engine condition.

My engine came back with seven cylinders having 110-115 compression, says my mechanic, with one cylinder at like 70 or something considerably lower.

What does this mean?

At what point is compression dangerously low? Is there anything I'm doing wrong that would cause low compression in one cylinder and is there any way to "nurse" it or baby it so that it doesn't get any worse until I have the money to rebuild/replace?

Not meaning to highjack the thread, but the information could be useful to iamfromMA too.
