Question Question on my Rear-End

When i was moving my 1985 Z-28, 5-spd, 305 4bbl a few mins ago... I noticed that when I peeled out on the wet-grass, both my tires spun... first the left, and then in a delayed reaction, the right. and both marks were pretty darn deep... so heres the question...
I thought my car came with a 3:23 open-rear-end... then why are both tires spinnin?

In low traction conditions both tires can spin with an open diff. Easy to check to see if it is a posi; someone might have swapped one in.

as said before, in a completely tractionless situation, both tires should spin. The fact that they kept on spinning once you hit pavement doesn't mean much, they were both already spinning, and they kept going.

Since you say one lit up, then the other, i'd guess that's it's most definately open. Jack it up and check for sure though.

If you still have your RPO codes under the console lid, see if G80
is listed. That is the option code for the Limited Slip (aka Posi).

I think its open... I seem to have the exact same car as you and I can light both tires up in 3rd gear if I rev it high enough and I have a new clutch
