Post Anyone watch America's Most Wanted tonight?

There was a special on street racing on Gratiot Ave, and talked about a hit and run that involved a 2002 black vette with a tan convertible top. There was a fatality, a local businessman who owned a jazz club. His Jag was rear-ended which threw his car up in the air and sent it out of control. The Jag driver was killed, and the vette took off.
If anyone here saw the accident or has any info, check the AMW website or call the local authorities...

I just got done watching that. They made it look like the Detroit street racing scene is just booming( which I'm sure it is).At least in their re-enactments they were'nt showing ricers. It was all Camaros,Vettes, and Stangs. They also showed a few LS-1 powered Vettes sitting in a Detroit area junkyard sitting out wide open.No hoods all smashed up.They are still looking for "The Killer Corvette"

Yes I saw it last night. Seems like a lot of people getting hurt and killed lately. Didn't think I would start seeing this kind of stuff on TV. People should try to take it to the track. It's just not worth it if you think about it. I have been trying to not race anymore on the streets. I guess now I just won't race on the street. I would hate to end up being the guy in the Vette.

That is a old story.

1. It took place deep in detroit on Gratiot. Close to downtown.
2. It wasnt an arranged race. It was a vette and another car running from a light. No big racing activity going on then, just two cars.

These shows make street racing seem more dangerous than it is.

First off, if they haven't caught the guy yet, they arent' going too. All the guy had to do was order the parts to fix his own car from a couple different places and chuck the old stuff in his garbage. Secondly specials like that are what give street racing a much worse reputation then it should have. In street racing you know the risks you take the chances, just ripping down gration in detroit is plain irresponsible. Murders go unsolved all the time, chase the homocidal maniacs this guy learned his lesson already, he has to live known that he killed somone for being dumb.
