Sorry to hear that Aklim. How long ago did you get those because I'm sure I read somewhere that TF had solved the valve guide problem?. Suggested TFS because there cheaper than the AFR's. Whats the going rate for TFS and AFR heads over there?.

Heres what we have done to it since we bought it.
New Coolent system. (rad, water pump(high perfromance) & 160 Degree Stat)
Have a Hypertech Stage 2 chip, has an Airfoil & the bottom of the air box cut out. also a Alm Driveshaft

Oh plus new fuel pump, new TPS, New Fuel Filter.

The car runs 14.7s on good days & 14.8s on bad days. (or on really hot days 15.1s)

I want to get Corvette L98 Heads (the Alm ones) Plus I dont know if I should allow him to get his LT4 Kit for his car & keep the cam for mine or just go out & get a new cam.
Also I want Hooker Headers for my car. What else should I get to get my car down to the Low 14s But not in to the 13s?

The car must stay looking stock So no engine change plus its got to stay street worthly with out a rollcage or bar.
Krazzy you will only see about 10-15hp out of the Vette heads,so if you are getting them dirt cheap you should look at after markets or working your stockers. The shift kit is a good idea, and they can be tayloed a little so it's not a slam into gear type of thing but will cut your times down a bit. Headers are good, and if you want a good cat back that's not to loud and still has a nice rumble look at a Dynomax. Lets hurry with that '82,want to see more pics.

I got them a little after they first came out. Not sure if they solved their problem or not but their tech support was terrible. Couldn't tell me what cam would or would not clear. Could not tell me whether I would be able to make it work with stock valve covers. I ended up going with the perimeter bolt style covers and their tall covers which would work for the roller rockers.

Now I have AFR 190s and have Crane Gold narrow RR and back to stock centerbolt valve covers.

Yes I have A/C in my car. With living in Washington state we do get temps well in to the high 80s & even in the 100s. So deleting the A/C is not something I want to do.

But everyone has to remember THIS Car is a Daily driver. & has to remain that way. I may have 5 cars & one s-10 pick up but I only have the Opt to drive my car & the truck to work. Since the other cars are show worthy & my boss has dogs that love jumping on moving objects. Not only that Everyonce in a while I have to take my kids somewhere while heading home or heading to work & The truck I can not have my daughters car seat in it Legally.

3 reasons why I wanted to put more hp in to my daily driver.

#1 Tired of seeing 14.8s & 14.7s when I know the car can do 14.6s

#2 I Want to keep running one of the fastest mostly stock 3rd gens around.

#3 because its my car & I can Do what I want to it.

This car has to remaind where it is running no more then 13.99 or my boss will not allow me to drive it to work & I will refuse to drive it with my kids.
This car is my daily driver, my pleasure car & my track car.

"Running no more than 13.99 and refusing to drive it with the kids" . You decide how far you squeeze the gas pedal.

Then why do you want it faster?! I guess you don't want anything too crazy. 1st is exhaust, get something like the Flowmaster F2 system or Edelbrock which are not too loud untill you really accelerate or go WOT. (remember to always lower backyour tire pressure at the track BTW) K&N filters, a Torque Converter, and also have your car set for the most timing advance without detonation. The shift kit and manually shifting would help too, you can get it built so that it isn't too sharp or so that it really is only at WOT. There's not much more you can do without getting into heads and cam, but if the car is responsive by this time you should be somewhere near your goal.
