my Z is runnin like sh*t

Ok, heres the deal on my Z. She just overwent 4 months of bodywork and paint prep. I didnt get to drive her much but all of a sudden she died on me. Every day it was harder and harder to start, and would die in idle when in gear and sometimes not even in gear it would die. The alternator went out and i replaced that. Thats new along with the cap, rotor, new accel supercoil, and bosch platinum plus 4 plugs(THEY SUCK)im pulling those out as soon as shes back from the paintshop and puttin in AC delco rapidfires. But that does not account for the high idle @ 1200 rpm. There is no exhaust on the car and the EGR is completly gone but she ran perfect before this. I am stumped and i dont know wat the problem is????

In the body shop, it might have sucked in a lot of dust so I would check the air filter and also clean the TB and IAC. Reset that and see where you go. Idle dying could mean the IAC. Also check that they did not dislodge a vacuum line first by using brake cleaner.

could you please tell me how do you check vacum lines by using break cleaner, is it the same concept as propane fuel test?

Yes it is. Just spray at the suspect areas and watch for a RPM jump. Just try some cheapie plugs and see what happens. Also, take a bottle sprayer and spray a fine mist at the plug wires at night and see if there is an electrical storm. If there is, the wires are leaking somewhere.

aright, but i why brake cleaner? is it becasue it evaporates so you dont have to wash it off with water? its not corosive or anything i would be afraid of it eating through stuff?

Brake cleaner will increase the RPM of the car if it gets sucked into the engine air supply. So, if you spray there and the RPM goes up, there is your leak. Don't spray onto clear plastics or you might cloud it up.
