Oh and just incase you got confused with my address my celly is 863-2993 for any questions.
EDIT: And what's wrong with the stock heads? The stockers on the LG4 have PLENTY of stock potential, let alone having them worked....

Re: lg4
While the Lg4 is indeed weak from the factory, the claims 85_305 makes are going to be very close to what he estimated. He redid everything in that engine. All that's been left stock is the pistons and crank as far as I know, and he didn't spend an assload of money to do it.

Re: lg4
^Ya pretty much. Crank is stock and so are pistons. And the MOST I spent on that entire engine rebuild is about.. *thinks about it*.. $900. And that includes hi-perf. EVERYTHING inside that engine.
Oh and my names Matt btw

Whether 300 flywheel horsepower is enough to obliterate LS1's... that's call for further pointless argument in my eyes. :P

Re: lg4
Why thank you KnightRider350 Well honestly I *am* using stock heads on there right now (although they are ported, polished, shaved, and gasket matched..) I am getting a set of heads this winter I am pretty sure. If not this winter then next. I am still trying to find some casho to ****** my 6spd so I can pass my T5 onto Pneumatic Man Jon

Re: lg4
I, of all people, have been skeptical and have doubted/questioned Matt's numbers. However, everyone on this board knows that you can get 320 horsepower out of a 305 fairly affordably. Is it "better" to build a 350, sure. Is it easier to hit 320 horsepower with a 350? Sure. The point is, however, it is still possible.
Second point: There's no point (haha) in arguing about what numbers he's pushing. There are plenty of people on this board that "adjust" their numbers a smidgeon, and many people who claim their expected future numbers. Matt's a pretty big target, as he's the most outspoken person on the forum as far as potential in 305's go.
I say let's put an end to this thread and let Anthony714 pay for some dynotime for Matt. My newest thirdgen acquisition is a 305 car, and I'm curious about his numbers myself. Let's let 'em both back up their words. :P

Re: lg4
Now there's an idea
Only problem is the car's off the road for the winter, but if 'Anty wants to put some money down for a dyno I can look into borrowing a friends car-trailer
And thank you for the heart-warming reply KnightRider350, I have always looked upon you as being part of the "More Intelligent/Aknowledgable" group

Re: lg4
Come on Mat, stop it! I'm drowning in the B.S. already!
First we go from "basic bolt-ons", to "not just bolt-ons", to "only stock crank and pistons", to "port and polish and other stuff". And now you want us to believe you did it all for $900.00 bucks, and "and that includes hi-perf. EVERYTHING inside that engine".
I sure would like to know your secret 'cause I paid a lot more than that just for the head work on mine.
Even if you have 300hp, every stock LT1 SS Camaro on the street has more hp (305 stock).
I don't think anyone is saying that you can't get 300hp out of a 305. Your just not doing it with "basic bolt-ons" or with $900.00.
So, with your crediblity at an all time low, there's only one way to redeem yourself. Post DYNO results or 1/4m times!!!
With your ability to wheel and deal, you should be able to do this for $5 or $10. So post some results, I'll send you the 10 bucks for the dyno.
Oh, and one more shot before departing. The words "300hp" and "monster" do NOT belong in the same sentence. 300hp IS boring.
Disclamer: The above voiced OPINION in no way is intended to demeam or ridicle anyone who has a 305, an LG4 or 300hp. Not all of us can afford to go out and buy a new Viper or ZO6. The process of building up a small engine is both enjoyable and educational. So please, Hot Rod away.

Re: lg4
My name is spelled with two T's I am not one to be walked on.
What I initially said was all it takes it bolt-ons to make your 305 fun. What *I* personally have is a complete rebuild and then some. Just because I know how to shop around and how to rebuild my engine for $900 means I am a liar? I am sorry you feel this way so stop hurting my feelings. You may have payed a fortune for head work, I am sorry and feel your pain. I have 3 very good friends that are diesel mechanics that went to UTI and have been working on diesels and 4 strokes all their life; I payed $30.00 for my head work. Call me a liar? You know that's strange that you claim these God-Send LT1's have 305hp stock; that is what LS1's are rated at from the factory. Have you ever seen dyno-slips for LT1's? They are usually right in the 240-252RWHP range, NOT 305.
I dont know which dyno location YOU take your vehicles to, but any local shops around here charge upwards of $150/hour. That's quite a bit off from the supposed $10 you are trying to pass off.
Your right, 300hp IS boring, but let's not forget I was 16 years old when I had this car done-up. Are you saying you would enjoy 16 year old kids driving around with 500hp Vipers and 700hp TT LS1's???

Re: lg4
The 240/252 RWHP LT1 and your ESTIMATE 300HP LG4 @ flywheel are two different numbers and can't be used for comparsion. The LT1's are 275/305 HP @ flywheel depending on model year. The more I read your Posts the more BS shows up. If I was you, I would just quit while your ahead and don't dig a deeper BS hole.
