Me too. My cam is .427 and .454.

If a person takes the heads off and gets the guides cut down, etc., to clearance higher lift then it will work. But that is a lot of work for an otherwise stock 305. Whereas an LT1 cam will fit and clear everything on a stock 305.

But DO change the valvesprings to something fresher than your old stockers.

absolutely... my stock springs were cauising valve float at 4500 rpm

new ones run right up to 5800 tho!

Thanks for clearing that up, it's always good to hear a bunch of opinions, I'm gonna go with a LT1 cam.
