well you are right about work not being the right time or place... but this guy was waay wrong for pulling me over on a BUNK offense. your right tail light was flickering BLINKING(faulty lights, blah blah blah) did you notice i was in the right turning lane??? would you like me to show you the turn signal again?!?!? when he realized that it was a turn signal, he looked like he felt completely stupid. he actually thought the light was faulty i guess... great reason to pull someone over in the middle of a busy intersection... whats this world coming too?!?! thats why i chose to be a soldier and fight the real enemies instead of harrassing the common public of OUR nation. no offense to you, its cops like the one i was talking about that give you all a bad name. just sucks that it happens like that a majority of the time.

Wasn't there, don't know, not defending him but where I worked (Cali) you have to maintain a "proper and functional lighting system at all times", so flickering tail lights, even if that was your turn signal, would be a legal stop there.......and I am grateful for all you folks who do serve in the military, I usually tried to cut them a break, heck, about 15% of my Dept was active reservists while I was there........talk about being busy.

it wasnt flickering.... it was a normal turn signal. he just used that as an excuse to pull me over and check out my ride. THAT was wrong. and if you think a turn signal blinking is just cause to pull someone over..... thats exactly what i was talking about.... communism..... you guys are SOOOOO worried about finding somthing wrong.... LOOKING FOR OTHER VIOLATIONS.... that you dont see the RIGHT things that happen. ...to SERVE and PROTECT... (SERVE warrents that is, and PROTECT your municipal revenues.... all those tickets for no front plate).... rediculous. glad we dont have front plate law here.

Dude, get off me, the way you described it, it sounded like your lights WERE flickering as you had your signal on.........and communism? Oh puhlease!!!!

Just show me where I said a (properly working) blinking turn signal was cause to stop someone and I will be quiet. What I ACTUALLY said was that a faulty lighting system, like flickering lights (which is how I understood your original post on that subject to read) would be cause in Cali.......and your ignorance in the "revenues" and where they go and who gets them is borderline hysterical. I was on your side and you just turned and kicked me in the nuts for no reason........WTF??

Did it ever cross your mind that this guy could have been assigned to work traffic enforcement and their job is to write freaking tickets......ya know, look for OTHER violations? Glad you are perfect and know everything about someone else's career though.

Just like you prolly hate hearing people misinterpret soldiers, what they do and how they do it, it goes the same here. I never once said the cop you encountered was right, never said you were wrong and you jump my crap cuz you apparently don't like any cops.........whatever dude, have a nice life. I don't need to be a part of this nonsense.

if you have a problem with cops, thats fine, most of us with lead feet have problems with the law, myself included

i got pulled over for my tints, the officer was very professional and courteous, told my my exhaust was too loud, gave me a lecture on the safety reasons on tints, gave me two tickets (one for drivers side, one for passengers side) and then told me the tints made my car look nice

but stil theres no reason to attack this guy like he is the cop that pulled you over, or that all cops are like that

relax, i was enjoying the first 5 pages of this thread

Yep, looks like you can rule this thread as a loss people trying to buy our third-gens.

I have stopped a car for a legitimate violation, take appropriate action, compliment their ride, and let them "show off their ride".
You usually would not have to ask a car nut to look at their ride.
They will gladly show and tell all about their ride when complimanted.
I don't see a reason not to let them and look admire the car as long as we are stopped in a safe location.
Guess that would fall under "public relations" part of the job.

And BTW, the best was to get an officer to start walking around your car looking for more violations is: ATTITUDE.

ive been asked a few times and some people have offered to trade me straight up for their LS1. I may have an RS but nothing about it makes it an RS anymore.

i had no problem with him or anyone for that matter checking out the chrome if you read my original post i was merely telling a story about a stranger stopping me to look... yes it was an illigitimate stop, and i said that. seems as if more then one officer here though has defended the reasons for, or tried to justify these kinds of stops... all i was saying is, if you want to see my ride... i dont care what uniform you are in, or what your goal is, or if you are working or not... walk up and ask, drive up and ask, whatever. i will gladly pop the hood ......but to turn on the red and blues when there is no law being broken was wrong. period. and he tried to use a violation that did not exist. that is taking advantage of athourity, and its bull. i didnt mean to start an argument, but when i am critisized for telling a story, basically called a liar..... how should i be?

now back to the thread... my nephew took my 92RS to the chevy dealer last week to have a new tire put on, and the mech there offerred him '25' for the car right on the spot. he came home and was kind of confused, he thought the guy meant 25,000 haha, his eyes were huge. we were like are you SURE he said 25000 or did he mean 2500... he said he only said 25 right now... i was about to run back down there with the title.
had my 5th baby yesterday tonight when i loaded his car seat in back of the maro... i had one of those moments flash through my head..."maybe i should sell it and get a truck, minivan...hmm... NAAAH we'll work it out hahaha

2 tickets?? right and left side, yes i think thats pretty much what i was talking about before... dramatic and picky... either your "windows" are too dark or THEY are not... shouldnt be 2 offenses. suppose it would be 4 if it were a 4door?? they arent too strict on window tint here, i have 5% on both sides, that is well beyond the 20% limit in indiana, and i have never had a problem with it. that car has been pulled over once with me driving (speeding) and once for my wife speeding. they didnt even mention the tint either time.

I'm glad there are people out there saving the third gens as well as the Fieros.

I love the power of my '94.
But the looks and the handling are really lacking compared to my third gens.

I was on a Chevy lot a few months ago with a friend that was looking at an Impala SS.
The salesman was all over my red '91.
He never would make an offer.
Wanted me to name a price, which I would not.
Just told him it is NOT for sale.
As we pulled away in the Impy, I pointed to my Z that I pulled in line with the new cars, and told him look, people might think that Chevrolet gives a **** now.
He laughed and continued to hound me to name a price when we returned.
My 4 year old daughter calls the red '91 "her Camaro".
Thats priceless and I have to try to save it for her one day.
Just hope that she will actually drive it when she is old enough!
It must be the Brilliant Red Metallic My car is the same year and color and I've also had several offers. I don't think I'll EVER sell though. It would be impossible to find another 64k mile mint 91Z in this color. Then it still wouldn't have a T56 and all the other goodies my car already has.
