No they are not junk. I run Accel wires all the time. I run the 8.8's and I have never melted a wire on the headers. They are a good brand for the price.

The plugs I would expect the same, good for the price.

Everyone has their favourites and some people just don't like Accel.

So what? They've had some bad fortune with them, while other folks have had nothing but good products.

When it comes to wires, use spiral core wires. They have very little resistance and won't interfere with your radio. 8mm is nice but even 7mm will work great.

a friend was telling me he seem tests done that a company would test the resistants of the wires, and the MSD'S were the best.

I have seen the same test at the MSD booth at the US Nationals. WE thought they were just pulling our leg and had the tester rigged so we switched the wires around but each wire stilled had the same resistance as before we switched them. We also had a set (over two years old) on our race car when we bought it so we measured them and compaired them to a newly bought Accel set (friends set)and the MSD were still lower in resistance. We have had very good luck with the MSD wires for our race car but I am sure the Accel wires are also good for your application (and probably a little cheaper).

Unless youre running very high cylender pressuresthe resistance that most performace wires give will suffice, I will say I have tried Taylor, MSD, Accel, and Moroso wires and they all had pretty equal resistance, the Accels were the easiest Universal set I ever put on , but the Moroso custom set was also perfect with a little extra excess. The taylors seemed the most burn prone on the headers, but when I had the stock manifolds I never had a problem with the taylors for a good 3 or 4 years. I have the Accel spro-core 8mm universals on my 86 TPI now and Accell extreme 9000s on my 93 (custom set).
