Noting that the poll is what we *think* the car will weigh, not what we *wished* the car would weigh....I weighed in (no pun intended.....well....maybe a little).

Disclaimer: I'm not Charlie (though I do find myself agreeing with him on several things), I have winkie envy (as far as you know), I am not a disciple of anything (regardless of how many there were, are, or ever shall be), and I have no inside knowledge of anything (at least not anything relevant to this forum).

 

Id say a fair guess is in between 3600-3700lbs. GTO is about 100lbs more then that, and if I can count on the Camaro team taking the car to weight loss school, Id figure that between the new stronger chassis and weight loss program, thats where Id like to see it. And in that range, thats not bad.

To get into my opinion on this matter, we'd have to discuss politics. I won't do that here. It's not relevant anyway.

I'm a stubborn, opinionated SOB who has way too much time to spend calling people out on the internet. I have no expectation that anyone else agrees with me, or even thinks highly of me. I don't care what you or anyone else thinks of me. I am very good with details, though, and the inconsistency in the details in your posts are just screaming that you're making everything up. I may be a pain in your ***, but at least I'm not lying or beating around the bush instead of coming right out with an answer. You're clearly doing at least one of those things.

It's not normally possible to purchase a premium membership for someone else. So, yes, I checked with Jason. He said he could take care of it. And if you go back and re-read, I confirmed that it was possible for me to buy one for you.

All of my efforts are just to get you to either commit to a number or admit that you don't know. I'd even be happy with an over/under. I really couldn't care less about any of the rest of this.

 

who cares what it weighs, i'd rather have a well built car than a tin can, yes its going to be heavier than a 4th gen because you have an independent rear and it has to follow much stricter safety rules, they could half *** it on a whole bunch of parts to save weight but its not usually a good idea

how much more does the 12 bolt or the 8.5 inch 10 bolt weigh than the 10 bolt in the 4th gen maybe 20-30 lbs at best, boy im sure glad i dont have that extra 20 lbs on my car

 

They used the 7.625" 10-bolt on the 4th gen because the 8.5" would have put the car into a higher weight class, subjecting it to some additional requirements which would have made it even heavier yet. The 20 additional pounds from the 8.5" rear might not be much alone, but what about the 150 pounds of additional equipment the car would have needed to get certified at that weight?

Personally, I'm glad they did it the way they did it. If it's that important to you, just buy a 12-bolt, and then sell your 10-bolt to someone who broke theirs and can't afford their own 12-bolt.

My number came from Wikipedia, so no surprise that it's off a little. It's probably the weight of the Holden Commodore or something. Pontiac.com wasn't (and still isn't) loading for me, so I couldn't get the official number.

We're talking about curb weights. Was your guess at the Camaro weight with driver?

I suspect that's with a full tank of gas, while I'll bet the manufacturer's weight is with it empty.

As long as we're consistent, I don't care which we use.

 

curb weight by definition includes all fluids being full, including the gas tank

generally the curb weight listed is for the base model.. any options will likely add weight
