I’m curious as to why anyone working on the Camaro who wants to see it succeed would tell Charlie anything in confidence as he has proven time and again he hates this car so much that everything he hears, sees or reads gets turned into a discussion on the car being an overweight pig and unfit as a part of the Camaro legacy.

It is actually. I usually agree with Charlie, except when it comes to the discussion on weight. Then we're polar opposites.

Wasn't directed at you, personally. sorry if it came off that way. I just opened up the thread and read through a series of

"so...what do you think the weight is Charlie?"

-"I can't say. May be from here to here. "

-"Tell us what you think it is."

-"I can't"

-"blah, blah - something about hating the car. yada yada"

-"bullsh!t"

-"something else about Charlie being negative...."

And I came away with the impression of a wasted thread.
Fwiw, I'm placing my money on the 3600lb range. +/- 100.

I like how you have nothing to say to any of the rest of what I said. Until I hear otherwise, I'll assume you have as little real information as anyone else here.

BTW, I forgot to mention earlier, "less than a GTO" isn't really a lower bound. A Lotus Elise weighs less than a GTO, and so does my 4th gen, and so does the stapler on my desk, and so does my mom. So it's apparent that the only real information you have is that the upper bound is somewhere around the weight of the Challenger. No ****, Sherlock. How long did it take you to figure that out?

You could "un-waste" this thread by answering the question.

It's easy. Just scroll down to the Quick Reply section, type in four digits, and then click Post Quick Reply.

That's kinda what I'm expecting from him, but I was really hoping to get a number out of him. I'd even be happy with an "I don't know," but what I'd really like is that and his best guess.

I think that's the about the best we can hope for, realistically, given today's safety standards and all. I hope you're right.

Oh, I think you are trying. I've noticed how you've taken a personal interest in my posts - even to the extent of naming a thread after me personally, and obsessing over it.

Anyway, you showed me that you're all talk and no ballz after that stupid 12$ bet thing you initiated last time.

I'm here to discuss cars/Camaros, not to feed your pathetic vendetta.

This is key, as is the comparison with the LSx GTO. While I think it's goofy to wring our hands at this point (for example, not yet knowing prepro interior/exterior dimensions) about the weight - I do think it's illuminating to compare the new Camaro with the G8 GT and the GTO. It's logical for it to be significantly less than the G8, and certainly plausible to be less than the GTO too. A few members here seem destined to be bitterly disappointed if the 5gen weighs as much as the LS2 GTO. I wouldn't be... based on what seems to be shaping up for the car's overall features and its rumored LS3 power. But I intend to wait and see, once GM is ready to release production specs. I believe any true fan of the Camaro should and would do the same, instead of condemning the 5gen without even knowing its details.

I cast my painful vote, lol. 3600-3649 bracket.

Exactly what does an M6 GTO scale out to with a 180lb driver anyway?

It's nothing personal. I don't let anybody get away with the type of crap you pull. Go ahead, search through my other posts here. I call people out all the time, even if I usually agree with them. It probably seems personal because most of the time I'm doing it outside of the 2010 Camaro forum, where you would be less likely to see it. Trust me, it's not personal. If it were Jason Debler spouting off about how heavy the car was going to be, I'd give him the same crap I'm giving you.

You've been roving this message board talking about how heavy the 2010 Camaro is going to be for more than two years now, and you obviously know nothing. Are you even one of the 12 Disciples (of which there are 15)? I'll bet you're not. You obviously don't have any more real information about the 5th gen than anyone else here, and yet you continue to blather on and on about how heavy the car is going to be.

I'm all talk and no "ballz"?

Look, I don't have a lot of money. So no, I'm not going to put up $100 towards a charity, especially one I have no interest in whatsoever.

If you're not even willing to stand behind your opinion to the tune of $12, I think we all know which one of us here is all talk.

I even cleared it with the powers that be, making sure that I could buy you a premium membership, should you win the bet.

If you're here to discuss Camaros, why is it so hard to get you to guess at the weight, or give me any kind of straight answer? You seem dead set against actually discussing Camaros in this thread. You've done nothing but fight it, and now we learn that it's apparently because you think I have it in for you? If you would just discuss Camaros, maybe you wouldn't feel that way.
