Challenger's interior=

One of my biggest gripes about the car but then again, it blends well with the rest of the retro theme.

I too think the Challenger's interior is boring... and the parts are VERY obviously shared parts as well. And baby blue gauges?

Worse yet! No CRITICAL dials for that all-important voltage and oil pressure!

One more thing. The contemporary, mainstream interior is wildly out of place on a car with that exterior.

As I am looking over the Challenger's interior again, I see why it's so bland looking. It's missing something. You know what would set it off? A torque gauge.

I'm probably the only one, but I like both the Challenger and the Camaro, inside and out.

The Chally is a bit utilitarian. But, I don't think it is ugly.

lol, how could dodge even think about leaving out the most important one of them all?!

Yeah, baby blue guages are ghey. Good thing they didn't put a baby blue halo around the guages in the 5th gen and make the DIC baby blue. Oh, wait a second, i guess they did, and 'everyone' loved it when it was on the chevy. Imagine that...

As for oil pressure, a description of the charger 300SRT8: "A 180-mph (300 kph) speedometer, tachometer and temperature gauge feature dark faces unique to the all-new 2006 Dodge Charger SRT8. An LED display within the gauge cluster is driver-configurable for oil temperature, oil pressure and tire pressure readouts." - http://www.cartype.com/page.cfm?id=921&alph=ALL&dec=ALL

All i'd add to that is, Even the GTO didn't come with an oil pressure guage, i'm amazed after all the back and forth about it you've never mentioned it since you claim to have owned one (but didn't like the interior).

What the GTO (and many other modern interiors) offered was a very nice and neat way to mount aftermarket guages, specifically, on the top of the center stack. The GTO, STI, EVO, and even mustang all have that option, probably other cars as well, but those are the ones i can recall seeing such pods for. The 5th gen and challenger stack don't accept it as readily, which is a shame, it's a convenient place to put guages without cluttering the main cluster. They're still very visible with a minimum of eye movement. Speaking of which, i noticed the other day that while i'm driving, my right arm is in the way of viewing the lower radio / ashtray area that the 5th gen guages are in.

And just rememeber, the console guages are just 1 part of an overall weird and non cohesive design in the 5th gen (and least in some of our opinions).

I've not claimed everyone loves the new Camaro interior. And I don't see convincing evidence it has 'baby blue' gauge halos either. Again, this is the problem with trying to interpret too much from cobbled, blurry, hurried spy pix. In contrast - it's quite clear the Challenger's pix were shot by a pro, and that's about as good as that interior is ever going to look.

Nope. That will not do. The purists here will demand full dial gauges

I loved my GTO. I still love the cars. But I had to sell mine when I suddenly needed money and could not afford its insurance, in addition to the 04 GP GTP I had. Since then things have recovered some at the ranch here, and I was able to upgrade my GTP to a used GXP as well as pick up a 95 Formula for a song (partly b/c it had 94k miles, and a bad tranny). I sure hope that's alright with you, and the other car-purchase police here

I notice you are a GTO owner. That's great and I hope you are enjoying your car. I loved the GTO interior... but as I've said already here, there were a few things I disliked about its interior (gauges were ok though). Seriously, I personally don't care if the new Challenger has big dial gauges for volts and oil pressure - I'm simply pointing out the irony, when so many here are all a-flutter to have FULL gauges....

This is not something that can be determined until owners and aftermarket folks get a look in a real production interior.

Oh noes! How will you watch that volts gauge! Battery could blow any minute!
...BTW here are a couple pix of the 'GTO that I claimed to have'. Note the background, including our house. Are you going to claim next, I'm pulling into some stranger's driveway to take all these pix? If so - you can ask JasonD here, if that looks like my driveway and my 'Bird

There should be no complaining about the Camaro interior. The Challenger's is a complete afterthought.

Nice cars BigDarknFast. Love the GTO that was the best color for that car. I never liked the rear spoiler on those cars because it covered the clean and crisp the lines of that car. Are those GP GXP wheels and tires on the Goat?
