I'm with you on this, even with the poor quality of the photo it is clear that this has changed a lot. I REALLY HOPE this is a base model or an early mock-up or the V-8 versions have more similarity to the concept. It was my favorite part of the car too now it looks boring, it's lost a lot of the aggressiveness that was there. I remember someone saying they saw the Camaro concept next to the Corvette at an auto show and said "it looks like if everyone left the room the Camaro would pounce on the Vette and eat it for lunch". That aggressiveness is lost. Maybe it's just a really bas picture, but I don't think so.

Well, I can't do anything more but hope for the best or pray someone makes a body kit (as much as I hate wasting money on things like that).

 

It's been a LONG time since I checked in. I'm glad to see the old timers like Charlie still here!

Scott hasn't been wrong yet. He's been with all of us since we got word of the "haitus". I'll wait and I look forward to giving the car it's due. I still have fantasies of driving around in my personal 5th gen. It's been a long road and there's light at the end of the tunnel!

I don't think there is any doubt that this is the base model exterior. There is no spoiler and no ground effects. I'm sure the V8 will come with both to help it stand out from the V6.

Well, I for one am excited that the car is coming, and I do think that if our faithful Camaro number one fan Scott says the production car is stunning, it will be. I do seem to see some changes that I wish would not have had to be made, but in making a car for the masses, I guess there was probably no choice.
I am comparing the leaked/spy pics to the concept in a different way than I have seen yet posted here. I have been using my 1/18 scale Concept Camaro, so that I could get the exact angle from which the various shots were made. I can superimpose, (looking through one eye and giving my wife the biggest of disgusted and yet quite amused laughs), my 1/18 directly over the non camo pic, and, from the firewall forward, the profile is nearly identical. From the windshield back, quite another story. You guys with 1/18 models (probably every last one of you, just like me) get it out and you'll see. Looks like the roof was raised quite a fair amount, and extended back maybe? Anyway, I'm sure the production car will be great, I just wish we did not always have to be teased with "concept" cars that can't become reality as is. I've always been a Chevy guy, but the Mustang concept was absolutely gorgeous IMO. Then the real car came and it was so watered down, there is no way I would have considered it. I fear the same thing here, and mightliy hope that won't be the case.
The real Camaro I'm sure will be gorgeous in its own way, but I SO love the pure aggressiveness of the concept, and I hate that it looks like some of that will be lost.
Nevertheless, LONG LIVE THE CAMARO!

 

I am really hoping that the "GM" Gods/Goddeses will quickly furnish us with a quality photo as this one does no justice for the camaro, Please GM Help us out give us somthing better!

 

I must say, the old cliche that "it's a great time to be alive" deffinitely applies here. When, in history, have people been able to track a brand new product from just words and an idea in someone's mind through every step of development all the way through to the day you buy it, if you aren't employed by the company making it? I feel we are all witnesses to history. Only, in a good way (so often we are witnesses to history in not so good ways).

With modern technology and these web forums, we can track the progess of the Camaro almost parallel to the engineers.

Makes me want to go back to University of Toledo and get a degree in engineering.

i work for the government with important documents, all having copies of social security numbers, licenses, job/past job information, etc etc even dmv junk. and we dont have even a fraction of THAT security... a fraction would be an understatement.

 

It didn't have a good sized spoiler, but it did have a spoiler. This image does not have a spoiler. I don't think all camaros will have spoilers. Just like in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. AFAIK Chevy has always made exterior changes to differentiate between the lower end and the higher end cars.

 

Those of you that can't see most of the bodylines remained intact are simply blind.

This picture is my favorite! It shows ALL of the bodylines, the mid bodyline and the sharp indent at the bottom of the door are CLEARLY THERE!!! You can even see that the rear 1/4 panel kicks out a fair bit as well. The 1/3 camo shot with the flat paint makes the car look very slab sided and flat, when in fact, it's not

I wanna just write it off as the V6, but V6s normally don't have fog lights.

I wanna say it's a V8, but the hood isn't there. Unless the one with the cowled hood is the Top Dog Then this picture may very well be the low model V-8
