Re: 5th Generation retread

Ok, Ok, Ok. I'm done trying to convince the masses that my perspective is right. I'm tired of people taking pot shots at my age, my egucation...education....book learnin' stuff. Tired of the pot shots at my taste in cars. I am a sensitive man with feelings that can be easily hurt. And when I hurt I retract and join the masses (insert Dr. Phil Therapy here).

Therefore I will come over to the dark side and plunk my money down as soon as the 09 is released in a Cortez Silver with black stripes, Big Meats on the back and a nose for 'Stang killin'. Let me at that 09 Challenger........

Peace and really out.

Good God! the picture wasnt comming up for me before. It says computer gen but it looks so real. That would have been a disaster! Thats not what I think of when I think 67! Looks like a 1st Gen Camaro with the rear 1/4's removed and an SSR front end...

With all due respect to the thread starter.... 1969 was your chance to be a young hellian and live life. Now is mine. Let's not repeat so that I can live mine to my own manner.

For those of us that not only lived, but drove through the original muscle car period this 5 Generation has the follow:

Cadillac STS front end
Chevrolet Impala rear end
Roof line of a 2005 Mustang

Wake me up when GM shows some real ***** instead of the BB sized ones they are carefully carrying around in their hands.

Put the R&T version from 2004 on the show room floor, put minimum 425 hp, bring out an SS version that plants an old mans *** to the back of the seat and maybe, just maybe this old school, old timer will saunter to the dealer for a look see and rip *** test run.

Piece, out my 55 year old brothers of the tire shredding era.

People like you are the reasons why nothing new can be showed with out it being overly critizied for being horrible. Think about it the world has changed. all though i love muscle cars expecial the ones of yesterday dosn't mean that a new muscle car can't be anywhere near the old one. matter of fact new muscle is probley twice as good as the old ones making more power with less fuel. they will also blow the tires off if you wanted too and not just one but two old timer. i believe you and everyone elses needs to get out of their little if it dont look like the old one phase and move on. i mean come on the 4gen camaro was a sports car that could beat almost anything it came up against expecially mustangs. but for some reason the old people in the car markets just felt they need to be old to be cool. honestly i love the new camaro, it shows something that ford or dodge hasnt done and thats take a good design and make it better. not only does this camaro have the profile of the old, which was based also on the mustang and would probly explain why it might kinda sorta look like a mustang, but improves on the design. what did dodge and ford do took the mustang and challanger of yesterday and did a few differnent things and said heh we got us a new car. that is just plain stupied and shows that the car designers are running out of ideas. take for example the new charger. i love its styling and would honestly take it over a challenger even though it is a four door yate. the new GTO is the same way i love the style it has sleeper wrote all over it and both will bake the tires right off the back. and one more thing im 18 and you know what i love rwd think its the best thing beside awd. and you know what no fart can for me just the roar of glasspacks bellowing in my ears in my 1971 Nova.

Not true.

Further.......I'll quote my buddy Jim Mattison (Pontiac Historic Services) (also worked on the COPO program at Chevy in the late 60s.....) "The 4th gen Fcar can do everything....and I do mean everything......better than the cars of the 60s......and you can do it all with the air conditioning on and the stereo blasting away."

I do believe you should see the car in person before judging it. (as I will wait to meet you before I judge you!)

I can assure you that the public at large does not share your view. Granted, there are those that don't like it......but frankly, we'll never....nor will any other manufacturer......ever build a car or truck that everyone loves.

I've never seen a car get this much attention.........any car. Period. (and I go to a LOT of auto shows......) <evilgrin>

You can be assured that when this car is built, it WILL plant "an old man's ***" to the back of the seat. (remember....we said '400 hp'...and we all know that the last 4th gens had horsepower a good deal north of the advertised 325 hp........)

truely and whole heartedly agree.

rgenzmer, don't let these guys rub you the wrong way. You're entitled to your opinion. With that said, give it a little time and I'm sure the 5th gen will grow on ya. Everytime I see it I like it more.

Also, I thought it was funny when you referred to the Fbodfather casually as "the guy that...." Then, you dropped that link to the concept you were talking about. I do more reading than posting, and all I can say is do a few searches. You'll figure out why he's called the "fbodfather," and I'm pretty sure the guy that designed that concept you liked is a member here as well. Its amazing who is lurking around on this board... makes it real enjoyable to read.
