5th Generation retread
Re: 5th Generation retread
I'm 19 within a month with a 4th gen and by 2009 even with a son and a wife i will definately have enough money for a 5th gen....i somewhat like it...notta fan of the roof indent or the taillights...I'd like to see a highway headlights option like my dads old school rs/ss has...that'd be cool but ne ways.....just had to add a post from a "young pup" product of an MTV generation.

For those of us that not only lived, but drove through the original muscle car period this 5 Generation has the follow:
Cadillac STS front end
Chevrolet Impala rear end
Roof line of a 2005 Mustang
Wake me up when GM shows some real ***** instead of the BB sized ones they are carefully carrying around in their hands.
Put the R&T version from 2004 on the show room floor, put minimum 425 hp, bring out an SS version that plants an old mans *** to the back of the seat and maybe, just maybe this old school, old timer will saunter to the dealer for a look see and rip *** test run.
Piece, out my 55 year old brothers of the tire shredding era.

welp.......I'm within a few weeks of being 52.
The problem is that we tend to think that the cars of the late 60s and early 70s were the fastest ever built.
Not true.
Further.......I'll quote my buddy Jim Mattison (Pontiac Historic Services) (also worked on the COPO program at Chevy in the late 60s.....) "The 4th gen Fcar can do everything....and I do mean everything......better than the cars of the 60s......and you can do it all with the air conditioning on and the stereo blasting away."
I do believe you should see the car in person before judging it. (as I will wait to meet you before I judge you!)
I can assure you that the public at large does not share your view. Granted, there are those that don't like it......but frankly, we'll never....nor will any other manufacturer......ever build a car or truck that everyone loves.
I've never seen a car get this much attention.........any car. Period. (and I go to a LOT of auto shows......) <evilgrin>
You can be assured that when this car is built, it WILL plant "an old man's ***" to the back of the seat. (remember....we said '400 hp'...and we all know that the last 4th gens had horsepower a good deal north of the advertised 325 hp........)

Not trying to be a dick here, I just think you should shy away from posting under the influence.

Anyone who drives this:

is not a good source for opinion of the 2009 Camaro
I've seen it in person:

and it's amazing! Good job Scott!
BTW, if you think it has the roofline of a Mustang you have cataracts!

<<<<Old enough to know better. getting old enough to care.
and
I remember when MTV was nothing but videos
and for the Camaro. I haven't seen it in person and I don't think I will unless GM brings it to Germany or Iraq in the two years... howwever, I am in love, lust and many other things with the Camaro. IMO very little needs changed.

Since GM adopted the new independent HP rating how would it ever be possible for them to put out a car that has more HP then it's rated at?
Re: 5th Generation retread
The Blue concept car being posted wasn't the one I was referring to. The one being posted was done by the same guy who said it'd make sense to pour $30,000 in a Toyota and call it a NOPI or DOPY or OPPIE or whatever that class of Rice Rockets are referred to. I will have to find my glasses somewhere here among my blood pressure medicine and look it up myself and see if I can post it with all this new fangled computer stuff I got.
